I say again my last... Nope no spaces in it and my firewall allows couatl Scripting Engine..... That's pretty straight forward!!!

It won't be the first time somebody is sure of some setting, but it wasn't so. Also, I repeated it, because I suspected you might have not read my reply entirely because, it ended with:

Since you haven't posted your startup log, you might as well missed the suggestion about checking the username. I'm awaiting your log which, as I've said, will clarlfy what the problem really is.

If you don't know how to create a log, it's on Page 34 of the GSX Manual.

GSX for FSX/P3D has its own manual and, since it can be installed for free in Trial version, there's no need to publish a separate download link for it.

GSX Support FSX/P3D / GSX not loading with scenario

Hi Folks,

I'm experiencing a bit of an issue, this has been happening since yesterday (Feb 22nd) and I have no idea how to fix this.

Initially every time I load a saved or new scenery with any aircraft I get no GSX at all, add-on tab has GSX missing and the couatl engine disappears from taskbar.

All other addons are intact and loaded, I can still see addon manager as an option in scenario.


I've tried updating GSX, even used the universal updater. Reinstalled client (reverted back to 5.3), I even tried doing a clean install of all FSDT products to no avail.
Lastly I tried window recovery to about a week back since my last save point and the problem still persists.

mind you that couatl engine is running fine when in P3D menu, the problem only occurs when scenery is loaded.

Any help would be sincerely grateful.

Nope no spaces in it and my firewall allows couatl Scripting Engine..... so I am lost, and I am sorry to say, but I am about to just remove GSX. If it's not going to function properly it's not worth having.

As I've said, it's either a firewall or a space in your username, or you having confused the alias and used the userid instead. It must the ALIAS, it cannot contain spaces and you must be sure your firewall is not blocking the Couatl engine.

Of course, if you posted a startup log, I would be able to tell you exactly what your problem is.

Now there could perhaps be something in my firewall I need to configure that I am not aware of... all I know is that it DOES allow the couatl Scripting Engine.

If you give me a step by step of what YOU need to be done in the firewall and how to do it, we MIGHT actually get this solved. As I have said before I am NOT software or windows firewall literate and need it spelled out on how to do it... otherwise it's like trying to shoot a fast moving rabbit in the dark with a sleeping mask on with a bow and arrow!!!!

Yes.... I am getting a bit frustrated.... I can't fully use a product I paid good money for!!! Which makes it useless!!

Hi,

I am running FSX Accel SP2 and having been using GSX without any problems but recently had an issue with Couatl which appears to be related to the Blackbox Simulations A330. When I load this aircraft I get the following message:

 "The addon <unknown> is causing the Couatl Scripting Engine to restart. Please run live update".

I have been using many other airliners from iFly, Aerosoft, PMDG etc without any problems related to Couatl/GSX.

I have copied below the rather long Couatl Log file generated by this issue (as it would not allow me to attach it) and, although I cannot identify the problem from this, perhaps someone more knowledgeable might be able to help.

Just to clarify, you're using MK Studios LPPT, which already has SODE jetways. Are you trying to replace them with GSX jetways.

To be clear, I've read the posts, but as I'm not tech support and don't know what would cause the issue, I haven't responded as it would be pointless. Umberto is usually the one who handles support here, but no clue where he's been the last few weeks.
