Las Vegas FSX/P3D / Re: KLAS Scenery in Prepar3d V6

You said you installed it but, nowhere you say you activated it. And if you don't, it will disappear after 6 minutes. Activation can be done from the Addon Manger "Register Serial" button, inside the sim.

XPOI FSX/P3D / Re: New PC - XPOI installed with GSX ……..?

And again, XPOI doesn't come with GSX, and GSX doesn't install it. It will only update it if you ever installed once, even a long time ago, perhaps a trial version you forgot you had installed.

It's because you haven't run the Live Update again, which fixed exactly the problem caused by the passenger number being set to 0 or the payload to 0 or negative, as reported here:

Something very strange is happening, since the payload reports as negative. However, there's already a fix online to prevent this case.

We'll probably settle for Win8 Compatibility disabled, since it seems more right to me, and with the auto-restarter, is not really a problem if it will crash in flight.

GSX Support FSX/P3D / Ground Services do not move or do not appear (P3Dv4)
« Last post by BAW217 on March 26, 2024, 02:00:51 pm »
Hi,

I've never had an issue with GSX in P3D (since it was first released), until today. I ran the live update (2 updates ago) and GSX stopped working. (I use the original version of GSX, not level 2)

When I say stopped working, this is what is happening. After landing, I select the stand, the ground equipment appears. Once I stop and shut down and request de-boarding, nothing happens. I don't get asked to connect a jetbridge, if there is one and the baggage loaders and the baggage carts/ULD dolly's do not move. If I start on stand and request any service, nothing appears, but the GSX menu shows that that service has been requested, be it fuel, catering or boarding.

I have since un-installed GSX and re-installed it with the latest installed from the website. It looked like that worked, however I then got a GSX crash as the baggage loaders approached the aircraft. This was in regards to baggageTrain.pye and told me to run the live update. I did so, but then nothing worked again.

I uninstalled again and then used the offline installer, but the issue remains.

It happens at every airport (I've tested it at Phoenix, Madrid, Gatwick and Miami, all third party, all different developers) and in both the PMDG 777 and the FS Labs Airbus family, this is starting to get very frustrating, as I have no idea what has changed to start causing this issue.

I've attached the last Log file I have from when I've just tried this at Phoenix in the PMDG 777.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Iain

Thanks for the update. It seems to have fixed whatever was going on. I went back in and removed the compatibility checkbox, tested - worked fine. With it in, it also works fine. COUATL stays up on landing in both scenarios. Personally, for me, leaving the checkbox unchecked seems to be a bit smoother for whatever reason, so I left it unchecked but either way, thank you!! Nice job. GSX back in business for me beautifully.

Apparently Ground Services started just fine, but Pushback has a problem. After released Brakes the TUG took the plane like dragging from the Gate straight to the side; not animated

Your error seems to have been caused by a wrong manual install of FSDT KSDF, you likely removed the scenery folder without using the FSDT Uninstaller, so it's looking for objects that don't exists anymore, because it thinks the scenery is still installed.

Try to remove this folder as well:

GSX Support FSX/P3D / Re: GSX SLEW MODE AIRPLANE SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL

There's no need to disconnect anything.

The best solution is what I always suggested in all posts related to this issue and is REMOVING all events tied to the joystick Axes in Slew mode from the sim Controls settings page. This will fix the problem and will allow you to keep everything connected.

GSX Support FSX/P3D / Re: After updating, the amount of cargo decreased.

First, before saying something is a "problem", it would have been best if you checked the release notes, since this is obviously intentional, and lots of users asked for it, since they complained the previous solution of always having the same number of carts no matter the load was unrealistic.

Our previous reasoning for having the number of carts fixed, was because originally (we always had variable carts in years), we had the support swamped by questions from users who failed to understand how payload and/or number of passengers affected the calculation of carts and, since it took quite a bit of amount of costly support time having to explain this over and over, because nobody ever reads the manual, we made GSX "dumber" in MSFS, with a fixed number of carts, and this reduced the support effort, because all those questions "why I have only 1 cart" (or any number lower than expected) stopped.

But we listened to users, and we were convinced that no, users are smart, and it's wrong to make GSX less realistic, just because people don't read the manual, so we put the variable cart feature back on, as it was with FSX/P3D for years, but I was sure those questions would reappear.

So, I'm NOT going to explain it fully here, because there's a page in the manual completely dedicated to this question, at Page 81, the chapter named Variable number of Luggage/Cargo carts., which explains in full detail how the number of cart is affected by Passenger Number, Payload or Simbrief (if you use it) and how it changes if you don't use it, and if the airplane is Cargo or not.

So, first read the manual, and only report this as a "problem", if you think GSX is not behaving according to the documentation, providing then a full diagnostic log for that flight, which would record all the variables involved in the calculation, which we can use to check if yes, we have a problem or not, you just don't understand how the variable number of carts is calculated now.
