Airports in Japan
« on: October 04, 2011, 11:18:33 pm »
Hello,

I would like to suggest the creation of airports in Japan. I personally see a good chance of good Sales for an airport like Kansai or Narita in FSDT’s quality. In reality I have a limited amount of FS time of about 3 hours or less in any giving day. I believe an airport in Japan would make sense since even if I start my flight at 8:00 PM (Pacific Standard Time) it would be day time in Japan. Also it would be a nice long flight when time permitted from KLAX, PHNL or KSFO. It would give me a reason to spend more time in that side of the world. A flight from Tokyo to kansai is about the same flight time from KLAX to KSFO. If FSDT decided to make some airports in that region I would definitely love to have them all as it would be a new set of challenges. Picture a flight from kansai in to Kai Tak!!
What do you guys think?
Best regards
Edgar

Not for me Edgar, sorry but I wouldn't buy one. I love FSDT sceneries more than any other developers, but even with that I still haven't bought any of the Hawaiin stuff since its far from where I like to fly and Asia is even farther so I would pass. I suppose if there was that much demand for those airports someone would have already tackled them by now, but in all the forums I frequent, I mainly see requests for either US, Canadian or European airports. Hardly ever do I read requests for Asian  or African stuff for that matter, not to say that there aren't people who want them, but they aren't very vocal about it.

Edgar,

I don't see the point of FSDT doing any airports in Japan, when you can purchase them from Overland via www.simmarket.com although they are for FS9 ONLY not FSX and I have them for FS9 and there good quality

Hello laxclipper your in luck there is already a kansai airport for fsx by aerosim http://www.aerosim.co.jp/eigo/page1_e.htm I'm assuming your talking about fsx versions of these airports overland japan is working on Narita for fs9 and fsx http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.140377536048491.36207.135175286568716&type=3 and  of course if your talking about fs9 then your fine since overland japan has that covered well.

I don't understand you guys at all! I totally agree with Edgar! Neither existing airport(almost ALL for FS9 only) live up to par with FSDT and certainly not flytampa/Flightbeam.
Airports in Asia have some of the best design and traffic in the aviation business.

For me Tokyo Narita is highly needed! Hong Kong to Kansai Edgar? Yes it's a dream!

Beijing is growing to be perhaps the busiest airport in the world this year! And Hong Kong my imaginesim is ok, but not complete IMO.

And guys I fly in the US and EU the most, so I am not solely a fan of Japanese airports, I am how ever, a huge aviation fan!

We don't have any plans making airports outside US or Europe.

And besides, we are quite busy finishing GSX and updating Zurich, O'Hare and then JFK, that we'll have lots of things to do well into 2012 so, it will be a while before we will even *start* discussing a new airport.

I guess a large Canadian airport is not going to be done by FSDT anytime soon.

I guess we might consider a large Canadian airport like a US airport. But that doesn't change the fact there will be many months before we'll start an entirely new airport project.

Like Umberto mentioned above they have a full plate right now with GSX and updating Zurich, O'Hare and then JFK, that's a ton of work already there. of course it will be very interesting too see what airport is next after all the updates are done, as for Japan I'm happy enough to have aerosim or overland working on it its a hell of allot better then default.

Scary to think there might be NO new FSDT sceneries for close to a year... or more...   :'(

I am not really that worried if a "new" airport is not started. Besides we'll have updated airports to look for (O'Hare for me personally) and GSX coming out. :)

Umberto, can you elaborate at all about your update plans for JFK? Is it to get it more in line with how LAX looks texture-wise? I hope so!

Ha, thats funny. Just a few months ago when I asked if you were ever going to update JFK since there are many changes made and soon to be made, you said you would not be updating it any time soon and had no plans on doing so since Microsoft Flight is coming out. Looks like you have changed your mind. Smart decision FSDT, very smart.
