Installation of GSX Pro impossible
« on: January 19, 2026, 11:06:20 pm »
Hi,

I don‘t manage to get my gsx pro installed. I‘m using Windows 10 Home. Everything is up to date, so far. Windows Defender deactivated during install, no other anti virus installed.

First of all the universal installer just starts 1 of 10 times. For GSX Pro he shows Latest Version 3.7.5 but he downloads 10 zip files from the 3.7.4 version. If the sownload is finished I get the following message:

Error uncompressing the archive, this is possibly caused by not enough space in the
Windows temporary folder, but can also be caused by a corrupted Download.

We'll remove any saved downloaded files now, so you can try Installing it again.

Tried x times, always the same result…

I have 742 GB free space on my drive C:/

I don‘t see how to install the software, can‘t use it for 4 or 5 months now…

Best regards,

Tom

Try using a VPN to install

Umberto - this is a very real problem for some of us. Please investigate or refund us - the program is broken.

I now have installed the application (not by using VPN) but by creating some virtual memory and deleting some windows temporary folders etc…

BUT:

I don‘t get the full install finished. Somewhere the application just quits. I have reinstalled my Microsoft Runtimes and all the other advises you use to give. After all GSX Pro is a dream but you should think about making an all new installer, it is very annoying to spend hours an hours (in my case now about 6) and still not the result to get GSX working fine…

I will try to run the Updater in hope to finally be able to use the application in MSFS again…

Best regards,

Tom

The program is not obviously "broken", if it was, we would have hundreds of identical reports, not just you and somebody else. As I've said, multiple times, there are ways to troubleshoot this, and please stop opening new threads about the same issue, because it seems you are intentionally making harder to help you.

There's no need to make a new installer, just because a couple of users can't use it. We need to find WHY it doesn't work or, do you really think a "new installer" would remove the problem that is preventing the installer that works for everybody to work for you ? How can we create a "new installer" that won't have that problem, if we don't even know what was the problem to begin with ?

It is possible to log the installation this way:

Open a command prompt, which can be done by typing CMD (then Enter) on the Windows address bar

Assuming you installed in the default folder ( if you haven't, you MUST replace this command with your actual path ) type the following:

CD "C:\Program Files (x86)\Addon Manager"

Again, adapt to your actual path if you changed it, and use double quotes if your path contains spaces

Now start the installer this way:

Couatl_Updater2 /INSTALLMODE /LOG

Run the install, and if it's still not installed at the end, exit and check for this file

LOG.TXT

Will if you did everything correctly, would have been created in the Addon Manager folder you were in.

ZIP the LOG.TXT file ( yes, ZIP IT!! ) and attach it to a post or send it by email to support, so I can see what's wrong with it.
