SODE crashing at KIAH
« on: August 21, 2016, 05:17:29 am »
Ciao Umberto!

For some reason, my SODE crashes when I exit P3D, then it does not work when I restart a sim at KIAH.  I uninstall and reinstall full KIAH and GSX, works once then crashes.  I do not have SODE in FSX.  Any ideas?  Thank you!

I'm sorry, but that looks like a crash happening entirely within SODE, not sure we can be of any help. Does it happen even if you start a flight on a default airport and then exit ?

That doesn't mean SODE is not working. It only means that SODE cannot find any object IT has created. Which is normal, since at our airports, we created our own jetways from GSX, then we call SODE to have the animated.

So, you must use the jetways from the GSX menu, not SODE's.

And, even if you are on a 3rd party scenery that use SODE, it's best you keep using the GSX menu anyway, because when you call SODE jetways from GSX, SODE will get the airplane door configuration directly from GSX, instead of having to configure the airplane again in SODE.

I will try it and see, Umberto.  Thanks

Ciao Umberto,

Seems that a different problem has now popped up.  I set a default airport in P3D with the PMDG NGX aircraft, GSX operates fine.  I then change location to KIAH and the SODE system in that airport worked (B737-700, Gate C26). I reloaded a different aircraft (Aerosoft A320, gate C41) and again SODE system activated through GSX operated.  So far, so good.

I exit the P3D sim and I get a fatal error in P3D.  I restart the computer, try to run P3D as an administrator and it gets a fatal error while trying to load in the nt.dll.

I download and install the Stand alone Add-on manager, try to start P3D again and still cannnot load the sim, fatal nt.dll error.

Any suggestions to fix this?

I download and install the Stand alone Add-on manager, try to start P3D again and still cannnot load the sim, fatal nt.dll error.

Nothing in your error log shows this crash has anything to do with any of our software.

It's a crash happening entirely inside Prepar3D.exe, and there's no indication (like in your other log, which indicated SimObjectDisplayEngine.exe as the faulting module) that is related so SODE, the Addon Manager (bglmanx.dll) or Couatl.exe

Umberto, thank you for your response, but I had a well running P3D installation before this KIAH & GSX update that incorporated the SODE system.

I do not know if this is significant:

[14:42:12.195] WARN SODE.XML : \cfg\ not found. Code(2) [C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\cfg\*.sdx]
[14:42:12.195] DEBUG  : Trying to build SimObject List out of Custom Config files...

[14:42:12.195] DEBUG  : Trying to build SimObject List out of XML definition files...
[14:42:12.195] WARN SODE.XML : No XML Files found! Lists are still empty.
[14:42:12.195] DEBUG  : List generated! Trying now to insert into QuadTree...
[14:42:12.195] DEBUG  : QuadTree populated with SimObject references.

[14:42:12.198] DEBUG  : SDX/XML/INI Handling done! Start FS Processing...

Looks like it is back to square one for me with a full uninstall and reinstall of P3D.  Is there some way to install KIAH without the SODE system?

Thank you.

Ciao Umberto,

After trying many times to run P3D and getting ntdll.dll fatal errors, I uninstalled KIAH, GSX, your download manager, COATL engine and now the sim starts and runs.  I still have your CYVR, KLAX, KLAS, KORD, PHNL, Hawaii vol 2, KFLL, KJFK v2 installed

Could you please tell me how to correctly install your add-ons so I can run my sim?

I already know about disabling anti-virus and firewall, so I can only conclude there is something in the SODE part of the add-on that is not working correctly.

I have been a long time supporter/ purchaser of your airports and would just like the sim to work.

Thank you.

More info...

If I reinstall the Add-on manager and COATL engine, P3D crashes.  I uninstall them and the sim runs.

Any suggestions how to get your programs all working together in P3D as I had in the past?
