Is there a setting on the FSDT forum side that can enable the New Posts/Unread indicators at the Forum/Category levels within Tapatalk? At the Forum/Category levels, those indicators are always greyed out. Only when at the topic level are the New Post/Unread indicators show new/unread posts. Other forums that I use Tapatalk with correctly indicate New Posts at the higher Forum/Category levels.
