I am having a real issue with P3D v4.5 and GSX recently. Here's what's happening...
As I work full-time, I am unable to fly as often as I'd like; however, flight sim is my happy place and has been for a long time. I flew ENTC-ENGM on January 10th and all was fine. GSX (level 2) - alongside many other add-ons - worked perfectly.
I logged on a week or so later and P3D wouldn't load. The splash screen would appear, then disappear. According to task manager, P3D was still running. I was unable to understand what was going on. Again, as I work full-time, I was unable to dedicate a tremendous amount of time to investigate the issue.
The following day, I did a little 'poking around' online and it turns out that GSX is / was the issue, so I decided on a fresh install. I foolishly purchased my GSX level 1 from fspilotshop.com many years ago and no longer have the activation key, so I was stumped!! I am pretty tech-savvy, so I searched everywhere for the code, but to no avail.
Fast forward to today January 23 and I have ended up purchasing a new copy of GSX so I had an activation code. I performed a fresh install of GSX and GSX level 2 with antivirus & firewall off, restarting my machine in between each one. I have also made sure my OS (Windows 10) all of my add-ons are up to date. And, guess what...same issue.
I have absolutely no idea what to do. I have looked at troubleshooting online, through the FSDT forums, (as a guest, I am a brand new member today), AvSim forums, Youtube, Google and the like, but to no avail.
The more I use flight sim (previously FSX, now P3D), the more I learn. I am able to locate my registry editor, having had an issue with an Aerosoft product previously. This is why I believe there must be something I am completely missing. Hence, my reaching out for support.
My system is by no means new, but it has all worked in perfect harmony many times before, so I'm not sure why it has suddenly stopped working now.
Again, the P3D splash screen shows, then disappears, but the application is still running in the background. couatl is also still running during this time.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
