Hi,

I have encountered some problems with GSX recently that I did not have before.

I use the EFB of my iFly 737-800 to load the aircraft with passengers. When I look at the Fuel and Payload menu of P3DV5 after this I can see that passengers have been positioned in the various classes as requested and their total weight is calculated correctly in the payload.

I open the 2 passenger doors on the left of the aircraft and the 2 cargo doors on the right.

I then ask GSX to 'Board the passengers'.

It sets about doing this, with the Conveyor belts coming out to the open cargo doors, luggage wagons being pulled by tractors buzzing about and being carefully unloaded on to the belts and into the aircraft.

Buses bring the (approximate) appropriate number of passengers out to the aircraft and they joyfully board the aircraft.

After 2 busloads of passengers usually, boarding activity stops.

Luggage has been successfully loaded and the tractors with their wagons have parked up.

The Conveyor belts remain at the cargo doors with their drivers in their seats.

They don't reverse away.

The GSX menu still says 'Boarding passengers now'.

Even if I close all the doors the Belts remain at the side of the aircraft.

Unless I want to appear careless towards the drivers of the belts as I start the engines I have to 'Reset position', a wee bit unrealistic!

This is a recent problem.

Another occasional problem is with the GPU.

I can request the GPU - it is towed out, the cable is attached to the aircraft, the bell dings and the tractor goes off..

GSX sometimes appears to forget that I have a GPU connected, because later, when I have started the APU and want the GPU to be disconnected, I get no option to 'Dismiss GPU', and 'Request GPU' is available again. So unless I want to just start the engines and begin taxiing with the GPU in place, I find I need to 'Reset position', not exactly realistic.

This may be caused by some timer within GSX because I seldom get a chance to dismiss the GPU.

This is a recent enough problem, though it occurred a while before the conveyor belts problem.

These days then, with all the doors closed and the APU running, before I start the engines, I normally end up with a GPU attached and 2 Conveyor belts parked alongside the aircraft.

Sorta getting used to pressing 'Reset position' ...

I can supply a Couatl log if required. When should I look at it - during the flight or after I have logged out of P3DV5?

Thanks

Walter

Just an update:

I was over on the GSX MSFS Support Forum and noticed a very similar topic.

It was pointed out there that users had asked that the Conveyor belts should not clear off when boarding was complete (I have no idea why that is a requirement, but that is the case now).

However, my fears of killing the Conveyor belt drivers with an engine start have been allayed. If only I had waited until I asked for Engine Start and Pushback! They move off at that stage and park in their spots (very wise people!), so I didn't need to Reset Position.

The same cannot be said for the GPU. You know that car driver who drives off from the petrol pump with the hose still inserted in the car - that is who I have to be! I am sure Ryanair will be charged for all the broken GPU cables I leave behind on the stand.
