Airline Parking Spots
« on: May 25, 2025, 01:50:19 am »
I am new to GSX. I have been reading the manual and stuff on the forum here. I have some questions. First of all, let me get how and what I am running out of the way. I am running MSFS 2020 MS Store version with marketplace airports, so i can't see the *.bgl files.
I am running MSFS on my E: drive. The FSDT installer is on C:. I am dumping all my ini files in the C:user\****\ normal path set up by the FSDT installer. So the ini files are on C:. My actual community folder and onestore are on the E:. I see there is suppose to be an AFCAD path put into the ini file at the top. Not sure how where the *bgl are for the airports purchased from marketplace. I use FSLTL.

What I am trying to do with GSX Pro is get the airlines to park at the proper gates. I have set up all the gates at an airport with the proper airline codes.  But I still get an invasion of other airlines into my other gates. That airlines gates are empty put they don't park where they should. I have see this done 3 different ways and I am no sure which is correct.

#1 AALX AAL UAL UALX
#2 AALX,AAL,UAL,UALX
#3 AALX, AAL, UAL, UALX

Which is the correct way to fill out the operators section? What is AALX and UALX? What is the difference with AAL and UAL?

Some airport have gates special for CRJ's and they don't park with the big boys. The FSDT KCLT has these gates. I notice that Airbus and Boeing will park there. And the CRJ's will park at the main gates. I want to get everybody to the proper gates is all. I am tired of Airbus tails hanging over the apron taxiway going to 18L.

Thanks in advance. I put alot of time into a few airports only to find it didnt fix the problem that I had before GSX.

Are you referring to where AI airplanes park to ? If yes, GSX has exactly *zero* effects on them, no matter what you do in GSX, AI will park according to completely separate rules, which GSX has no control over.

Yes, you can set airline parking codes in a GSX profile, but they are used ONLY by GSX and ONLY for one thing:

- To supply extra scoring in the selection of the handling operators you choose from GSX. Note that, this functionality has been basically rendered obsolete by the ability to select individual multiple operators on each parking spots. Again, this refers to the handling/catering operators that you call from GSX using the GSX menu and service your airplane only. Nothing to do with AI.

- Another reason to set airline parking codes in GSX, is that when you land on an airport, IF your plane livery has matching codes to the ones had set in a GSX airport profile, you will initially see the GSX menu suggesting ONLY parking spots for "your airline", with an option to un-filter the view, and see all parking spots.

Those are the one and only places where having parking codes in GSX matters.

Thank you! So MS/ASOBO didn't give us the ability to get airliners to park at the correct gates? Is there something else I need to get to do this?

You can try other traffic injectors like e.g. FSLTL or BATC.

Already using FSLTL. I wasn't sure if any of the other ones were better. I was told GSX was tied to the AFCAD file and would change it.
