Problems after Installing Vancouver CYVR
« on: November 30, 2013, 04:52:06 pm »
Purchased and installed CYVR.  Everything seemed okay.  Today when openning KJFK all the terminal structures were missing.  The jetways and AI traffice were present as well as ground vehicles.  Tried CYVR, KLAX and KORD and the same thing is happenning - no terminal structures.  Any suggestions as to what's going on?

It's also affected my Flightbeam airports - same problem.

Thanks,
Paul Kuhn

The usual question: do you have BOTH the "Addon Manager" AND the "Couatl powered products" menus under the FSX "Addons" menu ? If you are missing one, which one ?

The most likely cause is your antivirus blocking it.

- DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL the scenery with the antivirus entirely OFF

- Uninstall the scenery. Reply YES when asked if you want to remove the Addon Manager and the Couatl Engine. Reply YES to both questions.

- TURN OFF your antivirus. Don't just exit from its interface, but turn off the real time protection. Actual wording changes between products, however, it's the option to scan every file that gets open in real time, without user intervention.

- Reinstall the scenery with the Antivirus TURNED OFF. Don't launch FSX yet.

- Configure the antivirus to exclude the following files from scanning:

YourFSXFolder\bglmanx.dll
YourFSXFolder\fsdreamteam\Couatl\couatl.exe

YourFSXFolder it's usually C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X, if you installed it in the default folder.

- Now you can turn the antivirus back on, and launch FSX.

- Check you are seeing BOTH the "Addon Manager" menu AND the "Couatl powered products" menu under the "Addons" menu.

Umberto....again thanks for you prompt response.

Followed your directions - deleted CYVR and downloaded new CYVR setup without anti-virus software.  Started FSX and loaded CYVR.  Everything appearred to be OK.  Changed locations to several other FSDT locations with same results.  Finally went to KJFK and things went back to the same original problem - no terminal structures and no "Coualt powered products" under FSX Addons.  Following your orginal instructions, I deleted KJFK and downloaded KJFK setup and the update.  Installed them and everything appears to be OK.  Again I checked several FSDT locations and Flightbeam airports and the problem appears to have been resolved.

Thanks...enjoy your programs, looking forward for more new locations.
