A few minor issues
« on: August 23, 2019, 12:32:20 am »
First of all congratulations on an excellent scenery - it was worth waiting for!

There's lots I like about KORD v2, texturing, small details, PBR effects, no performance loss with dynamic lighting and the information boards.

- Runway Guard Lights (the 2 yellow lights at the entrance to a runway); these appear static and don't alternate flashes as in real life. Alsos these objects appear quite late. The LOD seems rather small, could it be extended so that they don't pop-up as close to the user, please?

- Runway designation markers on taxiways; immediately before the Stop Bar to each runway should be a painted marker, white text, red background on the taxiway which defines the runway being approached, e.g. 28C - 10C. These are missing at each runway entrance.

- Apron vehicles; they're really good except that they can sometimes stop on top of one another. When they start moving again, they don't spread out. They are stuck on top of each other.

Otherwise, I really like the job you have done.
Thank you.

They surely works here.  About LOD, do you have a very wide zoom setting maybe ?

We know, we'll post a fix very soon.

There's nothing we can do about it. Those vehicles are custom models, but are handled as standard ground vehicles traffic, so they stack up because they are yielding to your airplane, since the collision strategy they use (controlled by the sim), seem to be way to conservative, as they were scared of passing to close to your airplane tail.

We could prevent this by removing their collision entirely, but then they won't be able to go through the 3d passageways, since the scenery is fully 3d ( it were flat, we wouldn't had this problem )

No, I have zoom set at 1.00. I've tried different zoom values too and still have the same problem.

What I have noticed is that the RGLs display both sides. So when crossing a runway, the RGLs on the other side of a runway are displaying yellow towards me, when I shouldn't be able to see them. They turn off when the user aircraft is very close to them.

It's not the biggest problem in the world, but would be nice if I could have a working version of them.

Thanks.

The issue is, they work normally here. Just to be sure, you are referring to the two flashing lights on the side of the taxiway, which are made of a 3d object, not the lights embedded on ground ?

Same issue here with the runway guard lights ( wigwag's ), they appear static yellow although at an angle flashing yellows appear behind the static light, also the housing does not always load which leads to the light been visible both sides.

I cannot reproduce this. The housing has LOD levels, so it is supposed to disappear after some distance, but it will surely appear when getting closer but, even when from further away, the light is still flashing.

Which version of P3D you have ? How you updated to it ? If you updated just with the Client, be sure you update the Content as well, this might be an issue related to it.

Not the biggest issue, but the runway guard light on the west side of Yankee appears to be hiding behind the runway hold position sign. I am also having the issue where the light of the hold position lights are seen from both sides.

I'm sorry, but I cannot reproduce the static light problem in any way, they work just fine here.

I just tested.

Solid yellow but if I zoom in I see small white triangles alternating on/off (two screenshots).

Late edit:
I use P3Dv4.5 HF1
