Ground Service Provider
« on: September 12, 2014, 11:43:06 am »
Hello,

i read this Topic http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,10120.0.html
about a wrong Ground Service Provider.

Yesterday i start in EDDP and the GS Handler was Condor.
But in EDDP is only Portground available as a GS Provider for the PAX Positions
and DHL and Portground on the Cargo Positions.

So, how is the GS Handler selected by GSX and can we select/deselect the possible GS Provider
in GSX for a Airport?

As discussed many times already, the Paintkit documentation, that can be downloaded from a link in the GSX support forum, comes with in-depth information how the GSX ground assignment and the scoring system works, so you'll find all information needed to change ground handlers, even if you are not interested in repainting.

If you open your eyes and read correctly, it only says you need the documentation.

As I've said, quite clearly, the part of the PaintKit you are interested in, is the DOCUMENTATION, that explains both how to add a repaint AND to change the assignment of the existing ones.

If you cared to download the PaintKit, it would have been obvious WHAT the PaintKit is made of: it's just a .PDF document, and some sample objects, and that's it.

We released the GSX PainKit objects and documentation. It can be downloaded from the GSX Info page or here:

http://www.fsdreamteam.com/gsx_paintkit

The documentation will be found under the FsDreamTeam program group in Windows, or in the fsdreamteam\couatl\GSX folder.

means i have to install it

at the end, there is a ini file for every Airport.
But there are no info about the handlers for this Airport.

Eaysyest way was to add this infor mation in this file lik

Handler = XXX,YYY,ZZZ

But that is a internal program Change and so it will not happen at all

Bye

And so what ? Are you worried having to "install" a .PDF ? What are you trying to say, really ? Because, nobody here understands your point.

The PaintKit installer is 900K. The installed files will take:

- 500K for the .PDF document

- 126K for the sample objects

If you are really worried about wasting space because you have to "install" a PaintKit if you are not interested in repainting, you can reclaim your 126K, by removing the sample objects in the Simobjects folder, but you would still need to read the documentation, as I've said, several times already by now...

This question is obviously entirely useless because, if you cared to read the DOCUMENTATION, it would have been obvious that the airport .INI file doesn't have anything to do with the ground handlers.

Same as above. Since you are already complaining, before even trying to understand how it works, you are now launching yourself again into an absurd comment, which is blatantly wrong because, THANKS to how GSX is made, which would have been obvious if you cared to READ the documentation, that there's NO NEED for "internal program changes" to affect ground handlers, and that's an entirely DOCUMENTED procedure.

But of course, if you don't even try to READ the documentation, you would never know that...

i am not at home and can not install the paintkit here
also it is not a question of space, more on why .

But since, in order to make the changes discussed in the documentation, you'll have to be on the PC that GSX is installed into, the whole argument is moot anyway.

You are really at a new level of ignorance here. All you are doing is downloading a PDF on how to do it! What is possibly so hard about this?
