Trying to use a Robert Catherall remake of Ray Smith's OMAA/Abu Dhabi.
In the couatl.log file, first it reports "using <long filename> (layer 452)"
and then later
"File <long filename> skipped, likely too big to be an airport"
The ADE file is a functioning 5.7MB airport file, editable in ADE, and the sim (P3Dv4) is loading it just fine. It is large because the scenery objects are contained in the airport bgl. GSX, however, reports using the default apx file rather than the ADE.

Hi Bob,
I had a *.BGL file that were 3,7 MB large, GSX also skipped the file because "too big for an airport". I followed the hint of Umberto and added this line into the couatl.ini :
airportCacheMaxBGLSizeBytes = 8000000 (the command is case sensitive!!)
Just try it out, I could solve my problems that way! ;)
regards, Pit.

Thanks Pit--that fixed it.

Sure wish someone had said that I would have to make my own ini file for Virtuali in order to get KDFW working. Damn, it took this short term memory loss, stroke victim 5 hours to figure out and solve my problem. Three hours just trying to find a double file which I thought it was.

If with "KDFW" you mean FSDT KDFW, then no, there wasn't any need to edit anything, because the AFCAD for FSDT KDFW it's just 59K, so it will surely be read, since it's well below the default max size threshold, which is several MBs.
