GSX Closes Prepar3D v2 **SOLVED**

Hi,

I just installed all my FSDT products on Prepar3D v2, but when I request GSX services, Prepar3D immediately closes, no error, no error in the Windows event log, nothing. The Coatl log shows the following: Connection with Prepar3D v2 lost (has it crashed?). I do still have FSX installed with most of my FSDT stuff; is it possible that is conflicting? Thanks for the help.

GSX works normally with P3D V2 (provided, of course, you use the most current version) and, I don't see how it could close P3D without any messages or crash logs.

Try to enable logging in the GSX Settings page, then try again, and then check both your Couatl.LOG and Couatl.ERR files in the %APPDATA%\Virtuali folder, post them here.

GSX works normally with P3D V2 (provided, of course, you use the most current version) and, I don't see how it could close P3D without any messages or crash logs.

Try to enable logging in the GSX Settings page, then try again, and then check both your Couatl.LOG and Couatl.ERR files in the %APPDATA%\Virtuali folder, post them here.

After enabling logging, there is no content in the Coatl.err file, but here is the Coatl.log content:

I have absolutely the same problem, GSX could close P3DV2 without any messages!
I have the newest GSX download and install (yesterday), as well as the number of times restarting GSX. However, as soon as  I call Follow Me Car, simulator flies out!

Do you recall your position when you called the Follow Me car ? I see you were at EKCH default airport and I've tried to call the Follow Me from runway the 4L with the default Bonanza, but it worked normally.

Yes, mine shows that P3D crashes, but it happens when I call any sort of GSX service at any airport in any aircraft.

I know how to GSX working, i have over year used it in FSX. But now in P3D2 it crashed. And there no difference what airport and what plane. It crashed, when i call Follow Me Car. But when i use command " just wrap me there" it no crashes but i can`t see any GSX car and no marshaller (only default airports car).
Next, when i stop engines and use some GSX  command, for example "Request deboarding" - again P3D2 crashed with "fatal error".
Maybe some graphics settings does not match??

GSX has always worked like this, even in FSX, the warp command ONLY moves your airplane, it doesn't do anything else.

I can't reproduce this in any way, do you have a Couatl.ERR file too ?

Your log doesn't show anything wrong with GSX.

In fact, it shows that it ran normally, until P3D closed down for some reason. So, I think P3D is closing for other reasons, and GSX is just the "victim", and it was still running correctly, otherwise it wouldn't generated the log message in the first place.

I pretty much have the same problem.
P3D2 crashes when requesting any ground service with no error logs generated by GSX.

Only happens at some parking spots and can be consistently reproduced on EDDK Gate B5 for example.
I have tried the 737 NGX and the Airbus X Extended.

Thank you for the last report, it was useful to find the problem, it's related to a change in P3D in an internal function to handle AI and the function in GSX the removes them at a parking so, it only happens if there was something to remove (AI or default ground service).

Just reinstall either GSX or the Stand-Alone Addon Manager to get the fix. No need to download anything, it's enough you run the installer in order to get updated files that are online now.

Unfortunately this problem has not been solved.
For your information, this is my experience with P3D and GSX.
With Prepar3D Version 1.4 everything works correctly.
However, with Prepar3D Version 2, and the latest GSX installation, there is an immediate CTD when P3D is started.
When GSX is removed, but the Addon Manager and Couatl.exe, is retained, P3D crashes immediately when started.
When everything is removed, P3D Version 2 must be repaired before it functions normally again.
I am now going to wait until all the relative bugs have been fixed by Lockheed Martin.

Are you sure you reinstalled the latest Addon Manager or reinstalled GSX ?

No, this doesn't happen, the crash we are discussing happened ONLY after you selected a GSX operation at a parking and only if your parking contained either an AI or a default ground vehicle, but it doesn't happen anymore after the update.

THIS specific problem ( crash after you selected a GSX operation at a parking, if your parking contained either an AI or a default ground vehicle ) was our problem, it's nothing LM has to fix, and it has been fixed with our latest update.

I never, ever, saw a crash on start and as you can see from other users reports here, the crash never happened on start, it only happened after doing some GSX operation so, it's possible yours is an entirely different kind of crash instead.

You might check the Windows Event Viewer, under the Tools in the Control Panel. Looking the Application log, you should find the P3D error report, which might give some hints about this *different* kind of crash.
