New Runway Number
« on: August 06, 2013, 07:41:43 pm »
Hi,

I'm wondering if FSDT is going to update the scenery at FLL for the new runway change. Runway 9L and 9R have been switched to the 10L and 10R.

Yes, just run your installer again, it will download the updated AFCAD.

Does this include the FS9 version as well?

Will there be a further update/remake once the new runway comes to life?

The north runway will be closed for a while once the new one opens due to some overdue maintenance.

As explained many times already on the forum, we updated sceneries to reflect the real world airport. Sometimes those updates were free ( Chicago, Zurich ), sometimes we had to charge for a very reasonable update price, as in JFK V2, which was a very significant remade.

We haven't decided anything about KFLL now, we'll have a look at it after the whole maintenance in the real airport has finished and everything will go back to normal.

According to this : http://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/broward/article2144496.html
The expansion will last through 2017; I hope we don't have to wait that long for an update :) (but it's understandable if we do).

Just ran into a problem with ASN,  PFPX and Aivlasoft EFB. Planned a flight between KFLL andf KJFK, and was assigned runway 10L at KFLL for departure. After finalizing the plan, I imported it over to EFB, and went to set up a SID. But I got the error:

WARNING! Navigation data runway ident 10L at airport KFLL could not be assigned to simulator runway.
WARNING! Navigation data runway ident 28R at airport KFLL could not be assigned to simulator runway.
INFO - Available simulator runways at this airport are as follows: 09L, 27R, 13, 31, 09R, 27L

Has  FSDT  updated the runway assignment for KFLL to recognize 10/28 instead of 9/27? I know the new runways are still in flux, but 10/28 (I thought) was already set up in FSX (through the AFCAD). Apparently EFB still sees 9/27 as the layout in FSX. Is there a fix for this? I don't care about 13/31, but the main actives there should be changed in FSX.

There's nothing to fix on our side, the current AFCAD which comes with the KFLL installer AND the one that is downloaded on request (in case your installer is older than the update) both have runways correctly set at 10L/28R so, the only possible reasons why your addon programs still think KFLL has a runway 9/27 are:

1) You haven't updated KFLL.

OR

2) You are using an old version of the KFLL installer and you haven't replied Yes to the question about downloading the latest AFCAD

OR

3) You have another AFCAD from another product in conflict, so you must use the free FSX Airport Scanner utility to look for it and remove it.

OR

4) If you don't have another scenery in conflict, it's still possible your 3rd party addons are being confused and not using the FSDT AFCAD for some reason. If you have runway 10L on the FSX "Go To Airport" but those programs are still saying there's a runway 9, then it's a problem with them.

Got it fixed. Seems like I had installed the older FLL scenery after a rebuild. I reinstalled the scenery and the new AFCAD, and all is well. Thanks for the quick response.
