I know the weapons have firing effect but what happens when they hit the object?

I don't know. Umberto deleted the topic before we could find out. But Whitford was shurly firing hardest. ;)

Which didn't include anything related to actual flight simming (no useful information was deleted), but just personal attacks and flames.

The first post though was a cool video on a C130 demo at Paris Air Show June 2011...could you post it back please?

Well, there's The Cool Video Thread in the Unofficial F/A-18 Acceleration Pack board started by Micro.

However, by default, SMF (the forum software) doesn't provide provisions to reinstate deleted threads and posts.  Once they're gone, they're gone.
