Editing Pax Waypoints in 3D
« on: November 12, 2025, 02:36:38 pm »
Hi,

it has been a while that I set custom waypoints in 3D Editor but when I started to do so yesterday it was impossible to raise/lower the height with Q or Z keys.

GSX Pro 3.7.1 installed and checked yesterday. Movement of the coords, insert and deleting waypoints w/o any problems.

Thanks for any help.
Regards
Hans

it has been a while that I set custom waypoints in 3D Editor but when I started to do so yesterday it was impossible to raise/lower the height with Q or Z keys.

As explained in the release notes for version 3.6.8:

Quote
GSX Pro Change: The Shift key in all editors (Parking, QuickEdit and Airplane) now behaves like a toggle, to prevent problems caused by a Simconnect bug in MSFS calling back twice when subscribing to both Shifted and Unshifted key events. Now, pressing the Shift key will alternate between FAST and SLOW cursor Move/Rotate/Raise, so it’s no longer required to keep it pressed to move FAST.

Both the manual and the in-game pointers icons for the key has been updated as well, replacing Q/Z with PgUp/Dn

Sorry for not reading any release note but I used the actual manual v3.6.8 and the actual entry window to the 3D editor.

But at least thanks for clarifying and helping me.

You found the page that made a suggestion how to measure a jetway height and yes, that one hasn't been updated. However, the page that list the key used in the editor is Page 49, and after the table, it comes with this paragraph:

Quote
IMPORTANT

In version 3.6.8, the behavior of the Shift key has been changed, to act as a “Toggle”, switching between a Fast (default) or a Slow move/rotate/raise speed, this to prevent MSFS from sending both a Shifted and Unshifted commmand, causing errors. Also, the keys to Raise/Lower objects has been changed to PgUp/PgDn.

This is also confirmed in the chapter that explains how to edit passengers waypoints, at Page 57:

Quote
Editing Pax Waypoints

There are two new keys used in this mode, PgUp and PgDn, which are used to Raise (PgUp) or Lower (PgDn) the currently selected Waypoint, to allow path creations in the 3d space.

You can explain what you want, I used GSX pro 3D Editor in v3.71. and the manual to measure Jetway rootfloor. That's all I did.

And in both cases your official versions of the program and the documetation is not up-to-date.

That all!

You titled this thread as "Editing Pax Waypoints in 3D", that is why I pointed out the relevant page of the manual that HAS been updated and list the changed keys, which is in the chapter named "Editing Pax Waypoints".

Now you are saying you were not really editing Pax waypoints as you said you did, you are instead measuring jetway floors then yes, THAT's the page that hasn't been updated in the manual, but it will be of course in the next update.

But that's not the point, the point is you can't expect the 120+ (now 150) pages manual would always be updated to the latest updates (which other game is, really ?), and when in doubt, it goes without saying the release notes are always taking precedence.
