GSX Pro ignoring excluded jetway setting
« on: September 08, 2025, 09:50:32 pm »
I am using Digital Designs LFLL Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport in MSFS 2020.

I have disabled jetways for LFLL in GSX Pro.

Despite this the airport still loads with the GSX jetways instead of the addons jetways. The GSX jetways are broken and misplaced.

When I run the sim without GSX Pro the Digital Designs jetways load correctly.

I have disabled jetways for LFLL in GSX Pro.

Your screenshot doesn't show if the file is really only on the Disabled side. Try typing LFLL in the search box, so it would show if it might still be on the Enabled side as well.

I already did that, because I used the search box to disable it in the first place.

How could it be in the enabled and disabled list at the same time anyway? That does not make sense, it is illogical unless the software is actually broken.

I have also tried uninstalling and re-installing GSX Pro. Made no difference.

I also tested with nothing except GSX Pro and the LFLL airport in my Community folder.

But you didn't said that, so I couldn't possibly know based on your screenshot, so I had to ask.

Of course, that's precisely the reason why I asked to be sure it's not on both list, to check if the installer is NOT broken, so now you posted a screenshot with the view filtered, it seems it isn't, so the GSX replacement file is not installed for sure.

Check if you have remnants of an older installation not removed, here:

\Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways\

This folder is supposed to contain only a single file, named FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL and a texture folder, nothing else. This USED to be the place were the replacement .bgl were installed in older versions, and the installer is supposed to clean the folder since they are now in the separate fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways-2020 package, so maybe your problem is for some reason the folder wasn't cleaned up.

I have checked the folders you described.

The folder \Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways\ only contains a texture folder, nothing else. FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL is not present in this folder.

The folder \Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways-2020\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways contains 838 airport jetways.bgl files. LFLL_jetways.bgl is NOT present in this folder.

BUT

In my Community folder I also see these folders:

     fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways
     fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways-2020

Folder \LocalCache\Packages\Community\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways contains both a texture sub folder and the FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL file.

Folder \LocalCache\Packages\Community\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways-2020\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways contains 841 airport jetways.bgl files INCLUDING LFLL_jetways.bgl.

I have MSFS 2020 installed in the MS Store default location.

UPDATE:

I checked my Community folder again today and noticed that the fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways-2020 folder was missing. It seems to have been deleted and put in the Recycle bin. I do not know how that happened. I do not recall intentionally deleting it.

Therefore I used the Check option in FSDT Installer and that recreated the folder in the Community folder. Note that I had used the Check option previously during attempts to rectify the problem, but it had no noticeable effect.

Folder \LocalCache\Packages\Community\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways-2020\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways now contains 838 airport jetways.bgl files and LFLL_jetways.bgl is now no longer present.

This now matches the contents of \Addon Manager\MSFS\\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways-2020\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways

All other folders are still as I previously described:

The folder \Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways\ only contains a texture folder, nothing else. FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL is not present in this folder.

Folder \LocalCache\Packages\Community\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways contains both a texture sub folder and the FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL file.

I will run MSFS again and check if the problem is still present.

I seem to have fixed the problem with LFLL GSX jetways not being disabled, but I have some remaining concerns:

There is still a mismatch between the contents of these folders:

\Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways which does NOT contain FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL and the texture folder only contains 23 .json files all with todays date, and no .DDS files

    and

\Community\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways which DOES contain the FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL file, but the texture folder contains 23 .json and 23 .DDS files 46 files in total.
The .json files are all dated 08 July 2025 and the .DDS files are all dated 11 April 2025.

This mismatch seems incorrect and I suspect will effect the correct operation of GSX Pro.

I have now managed to resolve the jetway problem myself.

Some issues remain. I will report those in new separate topics.

A common reason why this is happening, is that you have a real copy of the two GSX packages in the Community folder instead of a Simlink, which is what GSX installs by default.

It’s possible to end up with a real copy without realizing it, if you made a backup of the Community folder and then restored it, perhaps when you enter the beta. This because the restore method you used might not be aware of Symlinks, it’s usually an option in backup software but, for example, if you just copy and paste the folder using Windows Explorer, it will convert Symlinks into real folders when pasting, so you can be easily end up with the Symlinks converted to real folders without realizing it.

The problem of having a real folder instead of a Symlink is that the sim will “see” a GSX package, but the FSDT Installer/Updater will only update its own copy the Simlink was supposed to point to, so if an update to the package was required, you’ll miss it in the sim, since the two folders are not linked anymore and they are individual folders (that’s without even mentioning you are wasting twice the disk space).

So, check the GSX packages in the Community folder: if they are real folders (they are missing the small arrows on their folder icon), REMOVE BOTH OF THEM. Then, start the FSDT Installer, and select Relink, so the proper Symlinks will be recreated.
