Passengers disappear after boarding, PMDG B777-200ER.
« on: August 11, 2025, 06:57:12 pm »
Hi Everyone!!

I’ve been using GSX for a while and I love it. I come here after spend all the weekend trying to fix it for me. (No passengers seated after boarding or disappearing in the PMDG B777-200ER). MSFS2020. As well I tried the same PMDG but in this case the B777-300ER instead here it worked perfectly. I uninstalled GSX , unchecked and checked back the check mark in the settings, uninstalled the plane and did not works either. I really don’t find what else I can do. I was hoping With today’s update It get fixed and did not. I feel very disappointed and frustrated.  Please!! if possible anyone know something about it? Or can help me to understand what is happening.  MSFS2020.

Thanks!!

GSX Manual, page 98, explains all possible reasons and all know solutions why passengers disappear and/or have missing texture.

I’ve read this many times on this days. There in “GSX Manual page 98 is all about it“ I read, checked it and did not works for me. I used to have the cockpit door open during the boarding, my Object LOD is at 200, more than pink textures I do not have nothing inside my plane, and PMDG liveries as I know is an ufficial one.

Thanks!! Virtuali, Umberto.
As a customer I will continue searching my issue in order to solve my problem.

Any updates on this? Seated passengers work for me on other 777 versions but not the -200ER? Page 98 does not help me either. Thanks.

I confirm that GSX seated PAX DOES NOT WORK on the 200ER. I also checked the texture cfg for my 200ER variants and it is missing the gsx seated passengers lines. I have been able to work around this by copying seated passengers' files from my 200LR repaints but this should not be needed.

PMDG 777-200LR shows the passengers seated PINK! Will see with my other plane models soon.

Following the above comment that the LR scenery config. files work for the ER variant (with top three lines changed to the ER), I wonder if the LR or actual ER scenery config. files (core aircraft/individual airlines) could be made available for manual download/install. This hopefully would solve the non-seated passenger issue.
Best regards,

No insult to Umberto, but I know that GSX has had trouble with aircraft with similar names. For example, the PMDG 737-900ER seated passengers work just fine, but not on the 900 (non-ER). The Leonardo Maddog MD-80 package, which contains the MD-82/88/83, also doesn't work properly. I wonder if the 777-200LR and 200ER have the same conflict.

I can confirm that adding the airline you want's ICAO code to the cfg of the 200LR generates the necessary files you can copy to the 200ER. However, that is a terrible workaround as not everyone owns both and neither should they.

Another tries with PMDG 777-200LR and Stewardess now changed their uniform like Pink Panter. Pax issues have been for a very long time never resolved.
Please, ACTION !!! Stewardess not in the correct location watching passengers. Too much!

In regard to the question from Patricio, the file is titled 'texture.PMDG'. This file is in Simobjects/engine type folder of the base aircraft i.e. pmdg-aircraft-77er and in the Airplanes/Airline texture folder in 77er-liveries. In the latter case it also includes data to generate the appropriate crew airline uniforms.

Please, can you elaborate further on what contents can be added or edited to the plane having GSX pax issues?

Regarding Patricio's question. The ER files currently only contain three lines, whereas they should contain 100+, with crew uniform data (aircraft section) depending on the airline. Unless we have the LR aircraft on our computer we have no idea what specific lines are needed to get the ER seated passengers working, so stumped. We need the problem fixed, or have access to download the files, otherwise there appears to be no solution.

I can also confirm that passengers do not seem to be working for the PMDG 777-200ER. Yes I have read the manual. Every time I do a livery install I open it up, uncheck the 200ER and recheck it.

But like Peter M has said, the texture.cfg isn't edited by the GSX Installer Config menu at all. NONE of the liveries for my PMDG 777-200ER have an edited texture.cfg. It is as if the installer isn't even detecting that the liveries exist. Not only does it not edit the texture.cfg, but it also does not edit the files in the model folder. As in, GSX doesn't copy (for RR specifically) the PMDG772ER_RR_EX.xml to the model folder of the livery and add all the flag files such as model.gsx, xml_copied_by_gsx, xml_modified_by_gsx, obviously because it isn't doing that.

I just installed a 777-200ER livery and MANUALLY made the edits to both the texture.cfg and the model.cfg (including airline specific crew textures) and will let you guys know if it works.

Honestly its a bit frustrating there are so many of us obviously having the same issue and the only response we get is "read the manual" like we haven't done everything correctly. I wish they would take this seriously.

Well after manually installing the passengers, I was able to get them to show up during boarding/deboarding and no pink textures at all. The crew are wearing the correct uniforms and everything but I wasn't able to get them to be seated and show up so I can't really report if it worked or not. Especially since I know they tend to work when walking but turn pink when seated.
