neutrino:
Fraps can eat about 5 fps, but if you set it to record at 25 fps, instead of the default 30 - it will create slightly smaller files and will be less taxing on the system without noticeable loss in the quality of the recorded material ::)
SpazSinbad:
FRAPS can be worriesome to get to work. One thing to try also would be to reduce the frame size as well as FPS but sometimes this will mean that FRAPS won't capture anything. All depends on computer/video card setup I guess. As a HUGE generalisation I have found that nVidia Video Cards were most problematic compared to ATI Video Cards so my preference (just for the sake of FRAPS) has been to use ATI. YMMV.
