CarrierLanding?
Herbie:
I'm getting a little better now, was thinking to start the FSX video recorder, so I can see it from the outside in play-back mode. I did land at 70R feet, but no Carrier, it left that spot. Attached a picture. FDX ??? How do you make a carrier video? I use the Nimitz single from the top-bar ai ships show/hide menu and set it to a waypoint location. Herb
SpazSinbad:
Herbie, I see from your other thread that you have landed successfully on a carrier http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=3175.0
On this thread I'm not sure what you mean - and I don't have FSUIPC or MultiPlayer Missions to know if this is an issue.
Have you tried using FRAPS to make videos? I find it useful when 'playing back' a flight to start FRAPS to record the playback - changing the views as required during playback. Also I have never used the FS Recorder to comment on that.
My question would be: How did the carrier move away? Is this when using the FSX video recorder to playback (and you were trying to record the playback)?
I have made carrier landing videos from an FSX mission 'carrier landing practice' or whatever it is called. Have not made one for a while but recall there is a thread explaining how to go about 'playing back' such a flight.

I recorded it with the fsx video recorder. The carrier is placed by me and option Forward select. This make it move and show a wake. I went back to the airport and replay the video again 2nd time, the carrier was farther away as before.
neutrino:
Herbie, the reason you do not see the carrier on a replay is because FSX does not record AI traffic, only your own aircraft. So during a replay you will not be able to see any traffic - air or sea, not just the carrier. You may see some boats that are scenery only, not AI traffic. You cannot use a carrier placed there by AICarrier utility, because it is still an AI traffic.
If you want to replay a landing on a carrier you need to use FSRecorder plus a carrier from one of the missions such as the Carrier Practice missions. On how to do this see my post here: http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=3107.msg26897#msg26897
The other option to get that landing is to record live with Fraps, which most people do, but you cannot replay and choose camera angles.
Herbie:
Hello Neutrino!
Thank you very much for the good news :) You explained it very well. Fraps is more or less a frame killer. Thanks for the link too. Herb
