Hi,

After last gsx pro / msfs update I got this issue -> "gsx couatl scripting engine" pop up window many times and
need to press "yes" to contiune. (and yes I ran the sw / gsx pro as admin)

Have working fine for years and got this....anyone else seen this or have a solution how to fix?

The message doesn't say just that: it suggests to open the error log, which is what you need to do when reporting an error.

Sorry to say but when this "popup" window pops up only options is either "Yes" or "No",.. (asking if I want to restart the sw yes or no).

To info:
- This popup window pop up when starting msfs
- Tried to start msfs with empty community folder expect gsx-pro, same issue.

You should enable logging in the troubleshooting page so, instead of the Couatl.err file, you'll get a Couatl.log that is way more complete which will help understand the problem. Also, please DO NOT "quote" errors in a post like that, because the forum software might change characters, and we need to look at the actual file in its entirerty.

Alwas ZIP the actual file (after turning logging On, it will be Couatl.LOG, not Couatl.ERR!) and ATTACH it to a message.

Are we talking about the User Access Control popup ("do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device")? If so, I am also getting that all the time now, in about one minute intervals. It looks like Couatl is just being auto started over and over again. Ths came with the latest update, and I also noticed that Couatl now starts or is loaded with the Sim when it is launched, didn't do that before. I am close to not using GSX anymore, which is a real shame, but it is turning into an annoying game of whack-a-mole with those popups.

If you CHANGED the Properties for the Couatl64_MSFS.EXE file to start As Admin, which is not how we install by default, you caused this issues by doing that, because the restarter doesn't need to start as admin ( same as Couatl64_MSFS.EXE ) so, a program that starts with no admin permissions will ask permission to start another one that *has* Admin permission, which normally shouldn't have.

So, either:

1) REMOVE the Compatibility option to start "As Admininstrator" you set to Couatl64_MSFS.EXE, so it will restored to the way we install it by default.

OR

2) ADD Compatibility option to start "As Admininstrator" to the Addon Manager\couatl64\couatl64_boot.exe program, so the message should go away.

Option #1 is the preferred one, the ONLY case if you need to use option #2 is ONLY if your regular Windows users is of limited permission, so you need to run the Couatl engine As Admin.

Thank you very much, that was it. I don't remember setting it to run as admin, but it was indeed ticked to on. Back to normal now and especially great with the Fenix and BAe146 updates. Looking forward to seated passengers!
