Exclude problem - autogen disappeared
« on: January 17, 2010, 02:07:37 am »
Hi
Thanks for this wonderful scenery.
I love your products.
But for FLL, I noticed that the autogen objects are excluded a mile or so from the airport boundaries. See attached picture?
Is it a bug on my computer or the normal design?
If the normal intended design, then why and can it be fixed?
Thanks

This is how the scenery looks like on FS9.

And no, it can't be fixed entirely, because it has something to do with the fact it has been ported from FSX, which uses a different method to create objects, that don't make the autogen disappear as in FS9.

Thanks for your help.
Would it be possible to change the file that excludes the default airport and create a new one?
I am able to create a new exclude by myself, but I would like your help to modify/remove the file currently doing that job.
Grazie

As I've said, it's NOT the exclude file the problem, it's the object themselves that are excluding the autogen and no, you can't modified them.

Will PHNL have the same issue?

Every scenery is of course different, because it's a complex relationship between the location, the shape of the objects and how the coordinates "snaps" to the lat/lon quadrant the sceneries lies in. And, of course, how the autogen is installed.

You can simply bet, we try to exclude as few autogen is possible, without creating to complex objects subdivisions, to save fps.

Why don't you simply try it yourself ? That's the whole point of having a Trial version...

However, the problem is not really apparent at PHNL, also because it comes with its own additional trees, but mainly it's how the default area it lies in is made.
