P3D 5.3 | GSX window font size **SOLVED**
disco79stu:
So apparently v5.3 introduced a "Text size" slider.
Problem is, when I set it to "Default", the GSX window font size is bigger than before (bigger than I like tbh), and now the lower menu entries are not visible until you manually resize the window.
When I set Text size it to "Small", the GSX window gets depicted as before but now the sim texts/messages are too small to read.
So there seems to be some sort of discrepancy or the GSX window doesn't resize to fit all text/entries.
Anyone else seeing this?
Can this be fixed?
Thanks
Stu

Hello Stu,
You can edit the missionpanels.cfg file located in the sim gauges folder and increase the height of window11 from default 0.25:
[Window11]
window_size = 0.25, 0.50 ;0.25
position = 4 ; Middle Of Screen
background_color = 0, 0, 0
alpha_blend = 0.00
visible = 0
ident = SIMCONNECT_WINDOW
html_file = Menu ; Use the generic menu window html content
html_instance_name = SimConnectWindowPanel ; Provide a unique instance name
3dp_worldspace_pos_offset = -1.0200003385543823242, -0.85000008344650268555, 1

As explained so many times on the forum, whenever you see something related to the SIMCONNECT MENU ( that's what it is, it's the standard menu used by all 3rd party apps with a menu ) related to its appearance, colors, sizes, position, docked/undocked status, visible number of entries, there's simply NOTHING the 3rd party application that use that menu can do to change any of that.
It's a 100% black box for us. We JUST provide with a list of entries, send it to the sim with a single Simconnect call that hasn't changed in years, and wait for the sim to get back to us, telling which option has been chosen. That's the only thing we can do with it.
Whatever else happens with the menu, it's all done and controlled by the simulator itself and by its own settings.

Umberto, can you please pin a topic to the top of the forum with the instructions to make the GSX window larger? The default size is too small for my 3840*2160 display.
Every time P3D is installed any user customised settings are lost and I really struggled to find this instruction. Thank you.

I’ll ask again. Can this tip be locked please?
