Keyboard assignments
« on: December 11, 2019, 06:10:12 pm »
Hello,
Unfortunately I do not speak English well enough, so I'm writing to you in French.
I really appreciate GSX and I share it on our forum.
I would like to know (as well as some of our members) how to assign GSX services on a French keyboard, so you do not have to open the "Addons" window.
I thank you in advance for kindly detail me the sequences so that I can publish them on the forum airvirtuel737.com and that everyone can find there.

GSX is already assigned to an hotkey ( Ctrl+Shift+F12 ), and I'm sure it's available on every keyboard.

Hello, and thank you for the reply ... I will try this combination.
But, as I have a cockpit, I would like to know if we could assign the GSX key combinations on a single numeric keypad which would be placed on the pedestal.
Thank you for your response, and take this opportunity to wish you and the entire GSX team a very happy new year 2020 ...
Very cordially.

You can assign GSX to any key you want but, of course, it must be free, not used by the sim or any other addon.

Hello,
Thank you very much I will try this function, but it can be tricky because to request for example the pushback you have to open 2 windows: 1 gsx, 2 pushback and for another function it's the same can we assign 1 single key I think to combine with the other (s) to have the desired function.
Very cordially.

GSX and GSX pushback both use the same window, so I'm not sure I understand the issue.

Basically, on P3D you have to go to the addons / GSX menu with the mouse, then a window opens and always with the mouse go to get the pusback, etc.
I would like to assign each GSX action to keys (or switches) on my cockpit, if possible and if you can help me, I will be grateful.
Very cordially.

I don't see what the problem is. GSX uses the standard Simconnect menu, which once opened, reacts to either the mouse or the numeric keys on the main keyboard so, assuming your goal is to control GSX from a joystick instead of a keyboard, if you use any kind of joystick software that allows macro programming, you can assign any button to emit keypress from 1-9 and, it will work with every app ( even the default ATC ), not just with GSX.

Hello,
So if I understand correctly, thanks to the GSX configuration menu we can give a path to a switche for an action if this assignment is free.
Thank you

The "KeyMappings" menu in the Couatl settings will control only the initial key to start GSX, and this MUST be free and not taken by other add-ons. But everything else will work with the standard numeric keys 1-9.
