ILS RWY 22R totally displaced !
« on: December 17, 2008, 07:43:38 pm »
Hi ...

I just bought KJFK and did a short testflight from KPVD. When approaching RWY 22R I was really happy about the fair weather ... otherwise this flight probably had ended up in a disaster. Why ? because the ILS 22R is displaced ... which was reconfirmed by AFCAD. My charts don`t show, that this is done by purpose ... so could You please fix it ? really no one with the same issue here ? or did I just miss the thread  ??? ...

There's nothing to fix in the scenery, JFK ILS 22R is an offset localizer:

22R almost NEVER has been used for landings. Neither 4L.

22R almost NEVER has been used for landings. Neither 4L.

Yeah that's true and the same goes for 13R/31L. These runways are used for landings occasionally during off-peak times since 31L/13R and 22R/4L are the only runways used for take off.

Before I closed these runways on my AFCAD, I found myself waiting about 45 minutes before I could takeoff since the departure line was so long and the huge amount of landing traffic was keeping aircraft on the ground from departing.

If you do choose to close both runways, make sure to delete the imaginary runways from the AFCAD or else your AI will not leave their gates.
