I would add a couple gigs of RAM and ditch Vista for Windows 7, also making sure that FSX is running at the highest resolution your graphics card is capable of will help.  You'll never get 50+ frames consistantly, don't even try.

Hello unfortunately you won't get 50fps in heavy airports in the air and in other places yes you can get 50fps, I did this config really fast http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/saved/1DUTTU this is sort of what I would get if I was buying from cyberpower of course if you build yourself it would be cheaper depending on the parts. to me anything above a Intel I5 2500k will be good for fsx/fs9 overclocked if you don't overclock you will not see a high improvement so it has to be at least at 4.0 the overclock on the p.c to really see a difference in big detailed airports. you would be ok with the regular default clock speed of the chip but like I said you will see more higher fps if the cpu is overlocked to around 4.0 and above.

We just so you know, Im going with an Intel I7 3.4GHz or more...  Im going to get 16GB ram, 2x ATI 6950 2GB onboard ram, 1000 watt power, liquid cooling, and the Cooler Master HAF-X tower case.  Im going to have all the fans including a HDD cooling fan.  For the boot drive, im going with a 32GB kingstone SSD.  The data HDD that will have FSX and FS9 on it will be a SATA 2TB 3.5" 7,200RPM HDD.  Along with the amount of Power i need im getting a 1200 watt UPC (uniteruptible power suppy).  Again i have a budget of $3 grand and no more.  I saw that i might not get 50+ frames at places with alot of traffic and airports like New York City JFK and LGA...  I now want to know if i can keep it above 28-30FPS...
Final configeeration i build yesterday, was $2345.00

You can do that with what you've got, if you set it up right... as in keeping all your sliders at realistic levels and not fully maxed out.  You've got two cores more than I do, and I can get frames close to 30.

And if you want decent AA, ditch the ATI for a GTX 500 series. 50 FPS ? Your dreaming.

Did you ever get the computer to do 50+ FPS (consistently)? If you do (and you never will) you could patent the setup and start selling it.

I don't understand why you are trying to waste 3,000 on a computer that has a dual 590GTX 3gb when FSX can only recognize one. Not to mention that your not having the factory overclock your i7 for you.

My advice, save your money. Drop the 2 cards you only need one. Let them OC your processor and get DDR3 with 1600Mhz or above, you don't need more than 12GB. Your not going to see 50 fps in FSX with all the addons that you want to use, I think you are blindsided by all of the videos on youtube, that are heavily edited and sped up achieve that feel high frames.

I spent 1100 bucks on my rig,
i7 2600k OCd 4.2 Ghz
GTX560ti 1GB
8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
750GB HD.
Windows 10 64bit
16GB DDR3
512SSD
nVidia 970GTX 4GB

I droped the idea of 2 cards because of that advise from you and others on other post i have made over at Aerosoft and FlyTampa.  I basically started this thread on here, Aerosoft, and FlyTampa.  Ive gotten more feedback on FT though.  Oh well.  Yea i will definitly drop one of the cards because first of all, im not going to spend $3 Grand.  Thats my limit that includes Taxes.  Il have the Factory OC my CPU.  I also rather go with AMD ATI Radeon series cards simple because in the past, i had less issues with them then i did with Nividia GeForce cards.  Il take your advise into account.  Thanks.  Still im 4.5 months away from getting it.

Do you have a lot of addons? What kind of fps do you get? Also, did you buy that out of the box? Sorry for the questions, I too am in the market for a new rig.

I use FS9 and FSX.  I use FS9 alot more though.  Right now i only use FSX for Multiplyer online.
I didnt get a new computer yet.  Im 4 1/2 months away from doing that.  Im just researching.  The computer i have now is in my signiture.  I get anywhere from 15-90 FPS depending where i am.  I get an average of 30-50 while crusing.  I have hundreds of addons including aircraft and scenery.  I just have to many so im just going to list the companies i bought them from.  BluePrint Simulations, Imagine Sims, FS Dream Team, FlyTampa, Flight Beam, Baja Sim, and for aircraft, QW Sim, Captian Sim, Flight One, Carenado, Eaglesoft, IRIS and thats about it.  I may not remember all of them but i can tell you thats mostly all of them.  I have about 1000 aircraft and of those 15% are Payware, 75% are freeware, and 10% is AI from World of AI and SKAI V2.3 for FS9.
