It's not 100% true Bruce, for example.: I have to buy GE pro, UT terrain, FSpax and a lot of addons ONE more time... That's a rip off. That's why I stick to FS9, that I have paid for ONCE  ;)

While I understand your reason and desire not to invest more money, having to buy different versions IS NOT A RIPOFF.  FS9 and FSX have different development techniques and in some cases like guages and aircraft REQUIRE differrent development techniques.  Expecting free FSX versions after buying an FS9 product is asking these companies to put time and effort in to a product for no additional return.  Some companies choose to do this, but it is completely understandable that some decide they need something in return for their time.

It's not greed either.  I can't pay my rent or feed my family on good deeds and best wishes.  While I'm in a different feild than software design, the same concept applies.

I remember when I thought like that..... that's till I switched over to FSX. Honestly, I believe the only thing stopping the transition is finances.... since FSX is more CPU intensive and a quad-core processor with sufficient RAM would be nice. However for some to assume that FS9  offers the same levels of complexity...... honestly is quite absurd. The debate will go on as long as ACES or whoever continues to develop newer and better simulations.... FS9 was better than FS2002 as such FSX is better than FS9. Sadly, as technology improves, we'll find more limitations..... and because this is a hobby in which its now a business for the latest modeled "toys" with eye-candy some may be stubborn to change for a time  will change. NG, I agree about FSX being better. There is no doubt in my mind about that. Add the new add on sceneairs available today and WOW way better than fs9. I think the only thing hold all of the non FSX users back is the framerates vs. computer system.  Which essentially comes down to $$$/ especially those who have invested in the FS9 version.

THE ONLY WAY TO SOME THIS UP IS FOR FSDT TO RELEASE AN FS9 VERSION...  THIS WILL END ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE WORRIED... (INCLUDING ME).

Now if someone can tell me how to get 30+ framrates with 100% traffic, on a 3.4 GHz system. Please let me know, I will then gladly move to FSX.

+1, try this...http://secure.simmarket.com/fsps-fsx-booster.phtml

Have you ever seen a real world airport operating at 100% traffic capacity?  I doubt it.   ;)
