I have a couple of hundred other payware airport scenery addons from other developers ALL of which continue to function perfectly in FSX on Win7 and I cannot see why FSDT cannot allow users of their legitimately purchased products to continue to use them without the need for mandatory updates.
How many airports you have that require an extra software to work (and NOT "just" because of the DRM, we use GSX and SODE to create jetways in all our airports, for example). Windows 7 hasn't gone unsupported "now", it went out of support at these dates:
- Normal end-users support ended in January 2015, more than 10 years ago.
- All support, including corporate and security fixes ended in January 2020, 5 years ago.
And again, we already explained we don't do ANYTHING intentionally to break compatibility with Windows 7. We JUST recompile the software using the latest Windows SDK updates released by Microsoft, which are required to support updates to the currently supported OS.
If you use Windows 10 or Windows 11, you can continue to use all your products, even in your 18-years old simulator (FSX), because we are STILL supporting it, since we can. But not on Windows 7, because we can't and it's out of our hands if something gets broken.
