No fuel truck animations PMDG 737
« on: November 15, 2023, 04:08:12 pm »
It's been a while since the GSX launch and the promises that we would have a fuel truck low enough to go below the wing of the 737.
I quote Umberto's comment on the youtube tutorial video posted 1 year ago.

"The main reason why it has been clearly explained in this video a new fuel truck with crew a cable animation that a 737 can use is coming soon, was precisely to prevent somebody questioning the lack of a crew/cable animation"

Did I miss something in the aircraft profile config or it is still not implemented ?

Good to hear - will this also cover other low wing clearance aircraft such as Leonardo MD series, PMDG DC-6, etc?

Of course, that's why it's taking so long (other than we have been releasing weekly updates to GSX for the past 10 months), is there will be 4 new vehicles, each one with individual crew animations:

On Gates with Underground refueling:

- A Fuel Hydrant with crew using a Ladder to get under the wing, for planes with higher fueling points (but lower than 3.40 meters from ground)

- A Fuel Hydrant with crew not using a Ladder for planes with lower wings.

On Apron Parking spots:

- A Tanker with crew using a Ladder to get under the wing, for planes with higher fueling points (but lower than 3.40 meters from ground)

- A Tanker with crew not using a Ladder for planes with lower wings.

Help me understand this. Doesn't a Boeing 737 wing sit at the same height regardless of airport apron.
The wings on the default 737's in FSX are all the same height and fuel trucks have no problem getting under them, and create a very cool animation.
I would have thought that all 737's are created equal regardless of the sim.

If you mean you see the Platformed hydrant vehicle in FSX/P3D, it's not because the airplane or the wing is different, it's because we "cheated" and, in order to make you SEE the "cool animation", we moved the refueling point in the GSX internal database for the PMDG 737 a bit on the outside, so it stays slightly above 3.40 meters, triggering the crewed truck. The 737 is really a borderline case, we couldn't do something like that with an MD80, for example.

In MSFS, we want to make it right, and do an even "cooler" animation, with the crew unrolling the large cable sprocket and using (or not) a ladder depending if they can reach or not the fuel point.
