Future Airport projects
« on: May 03, 2010, 12:52:59 pm »
Just throwing them out there for fun, not in any particular order:

San Francisco International Airport (IATA: SFO, ICAO: KSFO, FAA LID: SFO) is a major international airport located 13 miles (21 km) south of downtown San Francisco, California, United States, adjacent to the cities of Millbrae and San Bruno in unincorporated San Mateo County.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (IATA: PHX, ICAO: KPHX, FAA LID: PHX) is located in the city of Phoenix and is the largest and busiest airport in the state of Arizona.

Kahului Airport (IATA: OGG, ICAO: PHOG) is a regional airport in the state of Hawai'i, located east of the Kahului CDP in Maui County on the island of Maui near Haleakala.

Denver International Airport (IATA: DEN, ICAO: KDEN, FAA LID: DEN), often called DIA, is, by land size at 53 square miles (140 km2), the largest international airport in the United States, and the third largest international airport in the world after King Fahd International Airport and Montreal-Mirabel International Airport

Chicago Midway International Airport (IATA: MDW, ICAO: KMDW, FAA LID: MDW), also known simply as Midway Airport or Midway, is an airport in Chicago, Illinois, United States, located on the city's southwest side, eight miles (13 km) from Chicago's Loop.

London Heathrow Airport or Heathrow (IATA: LHR, ICAO: EGLL), located in the London Borough of Hillingdon, is the largest and busiest airport in the United Kingdom. It is the third busiest airport in the world in terms of total passenger traffic and it handles more international passengers than any other airport in the world.

Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (IATA: CDG, ICAO: LFPG) (French: AĆ©roport Paris-Charles de Gaulle), also known as Roissy Airport (or just Roissy in French), in the Paris area, is one of the world's principal aviation centres, as well as France's main airport.

Miami International Airport (IATA: MIA, ICAO: KMIA, FAA LID: MIA), also known as Wilcox Field, MIA, and Miami International, is the primary airport serving the South Florida area.

Los Angeles International Airport (IATA: LAX, ICAO: KLAX, FAA LID: LAX) is the primary airport serving Los Angeles, California, the second-most populated metropolitan area of the United States

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (IATA: DFW, ICAO: KDFW, FAA LID: DFW) is located between the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth,[2] and is the busiest airport in the U.S. state of Texas.

With 638,782 aircraft movements in 2009,[3] it is the third busiest airport in the world in terms of aircraft movements

Please do your research!

KSFO- Flytampa did it. They may remake it however since they redid Boston and Vienna.
KPHX- Would love to see this one.
KDEN- Imaginesim did it, outdated though.
KMDW- Flytampa did a great version. It's possible that they will remake it.
KLHR- Really? There are two versions out there already...
CDG- Aerosoft did it.
KMIA- Latin VFR is doing it in 2011, Intersim is in the process of doing it now (http://forum.intersimstudios.com/index.php?/topic/3-miami-intl-airpot-kmia/), Flytampa made one for FS2004.
KLAX- Cloud9 made it. Slim chance that Flytampa will do it and I mean very slim.
KDFW- You really must be kidding me.  :o

For EGLL (Heathrow), visit uk2000scenery.com as they have a very good Heathrow airport.
Alternativly, Aerosoft have also done Heathrow, but I find the UK2000 one better on FPS.

I think the intent of his post was that the bulk of these, especially those that were released, are completely outdated.

KPHX was done by SimFlyers. Completely outdated now.
KSFO. Outdated as well, and needs to be updated.
KDEN. Done by ImagineSim, and as you said, outdated.
KMDW. FlyTampa made it, and is still fairly up to date.
EGLL, both Aerosoft and UK2000 made this one, and is still current for the most.
KMIA. 2 are planned, as you said.
KLAX. Completely outdated. New taxiway, runway moved south and widened. Cloud9's version is OLD.
KDFW. FSDT is on it.

I have Aerosoft/Sim-Wings Mega Airport London. KMDW is not updated as far as using it for FSX. Mach 1 is redoing all their sceneries for FSX KPHX is one of theirs. :)

You could have scanned through some of the forum index' and seen that DFW is already next up for a release!

KSFO and KPHX are the only two that I would agree on are needed. KDEN perhaps.

EGLL(LHR) is already available from Aerosoft, and it is a good looking one(too hard on the system though). Ditto with LFPG(CDG).

It is a question of preference. Rather update an old airport or create a completely new one - resulting in a usable old, and a great new one. I choose the latter!

LOL, that is the funniest thing I have read in a long time. I know that you meant to say here, but since you said her, it gives a whole new meaning. I wonder what "she" thinks about all the noobs in her, lol?
