KLAX V2.0 -> West Gate Terminal (New Building)
« on: September 26, 2021, 01:09:54 am »
Hey Admins of FsDreamTeam,
on July i was at Los Angeles and i was wondering about the new Building behind the Tom Bradley Intl Airport.
I was flying with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and they parked at the Westgate. I was shocked when i was see that.

My Question about that: Do you make an update of this new Building? Maybe we all together can make a new better Scenery of KLAX. Would be very great.
Do you know about future Updates or Airport Buildings?

Would great to let me know about that. Thanks for future Answers.

Best Greetings Jonas :) :) :)

I think they're waiting for all of the construction to be completed, otherwise the scenery would be constantly having to be updated.

Thanks for the answer. but i think they all already done.
And it will be better to make a better Scenery of KLAX (from Fsdreamteam).
Better Ground, Better Gates like Chicago or Vancouver you know :D

Because many of there Customers of Fsdreamteam are still playing Prepar3d.
But ii think, FSDT will only make in the future some Projects for the new MSFS.

I hope not so

Did they say the reason for the moving and shortening of the runway.

So there definitely is construction going on on the north side of the field, with cranes all over the place on the field until 2023, taxiways restricted because of construction, and because of new gates and buildings being built, LAX now has its own Ramp control, similar to LAS, ATL, and IAD. But seeing that all of this is going on for the next 2 years, putting together scenery for LAX now isn't worth it because it will be out of date again in less than 2 year's time.

Unless I'm being blind and stupid, I'm not seeing where it says why the runway was moved. Also, what was LAX using before if they didn't have a ramp control.

Lots of new construction at klax.
I. Additional the new Midfield concourse,  the next round of construction  adds concourse  0 east of terminal1and a new terminal east of "thebox' east of terminal 8.

Each airline controlled the ramp for its terminals. The new city ramp is for the new west concourse of the international terminal.

And this article nails it. From that article:

Quote
On Tuesday, the BOAC will consider the final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the ongoing Airfield and Terminal Modernization Project (ATMP) and plans to add new expansion. This includes the construction of a new Concourse 0.

Concourse 0 will extend out of the eastern side of Terminal 1. This concourse would contain 11 narrowbody aircraft gates. Nine of these are new gates, or net additions, to the airport’s gate availability.

Terminal 1 is where SWA has its domestic terminal (they come into T4 or T2 for all flights from Hawaii). Concourse 0 will be to the east of that, so they are adding an entire ramp area and extending Taxiway E over to that, which causes 24L to also be moved east.

Reference the green on the north side of the field.

Plus they are adding two more highspeed turnoffs: one off of 24R, and one off of 6L, so there is a LOT more work that is going to be done. FSDT is actually doing the right thing here in waiting until the construction is done, otherwise a V2 will turn into a V5 or V7 by the time construction is done; in fact, they're planning on this taking another 4-5 years, and that's just to prep for the Olympics in 2028.

EDIT: Actually, they aren't adding any highspeeds. They are getting rid of the highspeeds off of 6L and 24R, so the reverse is being taken off. This would add to more taxiway and runway changes that would have to be redesigned as well for any developer making scenery for KLAX.
