Please help me
« on: May 13, 2009, 12:59:54 am »
Can somebody please upload a copy of their APX24170.bgl.  I accidentally deleted mine and don't want to spend days reinstalling all of my addons.

Thanks,
AAL763

Why are you thinking that, by restoring a default BGL, you need to reinstall all your addons ?

Just run the Flight sim installer, and choose to "repair" the installation, it will restore only the missing files.

Or, if you don't want to do this, you can simply browse the install DVDs, and look for the file in one of the compressed .CAB files. A compression utility like WinRar will allow you to look inside .CAB files and take files from there.

Thank you very much virtuali.  I had no idea that the repair feature would do that.  I thought it would copy over all my downloaded textures with the default ones.  Thanks to you I am able to fly normally again.  Keep up the good work.

Thanks,

Wait a minute.  I just tried running FSX after the repair, and a window pops up saying a fatal error occurred.  How do I fix this?

Then you must have some other problem, apart for the missing bgl. I've no idea how to fix it, "fatal error" without any other information doesn't tell much.

I figured it out.  I had to uninstall service pack 2 then reinstall it.
