does anybody know where any anciet castles or forts are located in fsx or are they even there?

There a lot in Germany and look at the large one at Salzburg Austria.

Have you tried FSDT's XPOI?  It will give you all that information from within FSX and, with the click of a button will slew you there too; it also works in FSX world wide.
