What is FSDT working on?
« on: February 25, 2015, 05:31:27 pm »
Hi guys,

when will there be any kind of announcement what you guys are working on? The only thing I can find is this year-old thread about "the next scenery"-Wishlist with more or less useless discussions.

Would be very exciting to hear from the official side what is going on.

Best regards
Adrian

I think it's safe to say we are working on those products:

- Memphis International Airport - KMEM

- Charlotte Douglas International Airport - KCLT

- A Cargo Expansion product for GSX

- After KMEM will be out, we'll start working on KLAS V2 and KORD V2.

- Also, we have SEVERAL unannounced projects in additions to these, they are all made by new teams we just hired, so we want to wait a bit before announcing them.

just out of curiosity, are all the unannounced airports in the US or international?

and also a curious question. how long does it take to update an airport when the real one has changed (removal of terminal 3 at JFK for example)

Umberto,  are we close to any "backdoor" posts for either KMEM or KCLT? I remember you saying that KCLT was coming along very quickly.

What developer is working on Detroit KDTW?

KCLT was done by Imaginesim, I am surprised seeing it redone (...a phrase I've read on one of the forums: "we try not to step on each other's toes"). Otherwise if redoing their sceneries I would begin with KATL. What I don't like about their sceneries is that the scenery display slider within FSX has to be set to max in order for jetways to show up, otherwise it is buildings only.

Two major US sceneries remaining is KDTW and KSEA which are not being done by anyone (?)
Blueprint does very good decisions selecting sceneries but it's Blueprint...

From their own website, it's listed under "Legacy products"

Agreed... :)

I would like to tackle KSEA one day or the other, if only to prove it CAN be done. But I'm afraid it will require a total redone of the entire area outside, which might not be economically feasible, since it will raise the development time (=cost) quite a bit.

Honestly I'd like see FlyTampa do KSEA, they have the material. Not sure why is not redone like KBOS (not registered on their forum yet).
As for paying a fee, the modern (recent or post-2010) addons (be it aircraft, scenery or utils like REX/ASN) are too good to complain about the cost -))

ps.
still, many people want KEWR and so do I despite the JFK.
I won't be cursing Dzerweski, they did a very good and performance friendly Moscow UUEE - comparable to sceneries done by popular developers, but KEWR is not good. Looks like different person/people were developing these sceneries using different techniques.

...says who?? Didn't find anything about that intheir forums.

Very good news about KMEM, KLAS and KORD, even if not soooo new to the ones who carefully read in these forums :-) Only KCLT is not my cup of tea, but certainly missed by many.

Now I just hope KPDX, CYYC, KABQ, KATL and/or KSLC are among the other NA airports not announced yet?! For the one outside NA, I would certainly not complain about LFPG or EDDM. Also looking Forward for the cargo expansion of GSX. Keep on the good work!
