They are made like that to overcome possible issue with other conflicting vehicles, since GSX vehicles don't have any awareness of other vehicle or each other

When we'll have remote de-icing, this might be true but, since at this time we only have deicing at the gate, it IS a problem nonetheless, so that's explains why things are done in a certain way.

I was thinking about the remote de-icing option.
Is there no way of adding a ("virtual") parking position to a afcad and restrict this position then with only the option for de-icing (with the modification that the engines are running etc.)?

or would it be possible to just have a simple option to de-ice. This way, we could taxi to the de-icing pad and then call the option from the menu ?
