looking good Umberto.
Are you looking to include the same functionality as the current GSX products?

Are you looking to include the same functionality as the current GSX products?

Sure, it will be the full GSX.

Not entirely sure about the customization options for jetways and logos, which required Render To texture in P3D4 with DX11 code which we cannot use in MSFS, there might be new methods which might be offered in future versions of the SDK but, once they'll add the features still missing from Simconnect ( no menus, for example ), we expect to have the full GSX working.

Thank goodness that GSX is coming to MSFS!  Take your time Umberto, while I miss GSX immensely I am happy to hang on until you are ready to release it!

Will GSX fix the positioning of the jetways in MSFS? or will we have the ability to adjust them like in P3D? right now there are so many airports where the jetways are in the way of the J Line for an aircraft to park that when I spawn into a session its going through my fuselage. I know you said you are not sure about the customization right now so I apologize if Im asking the same question.

Yes, we'll surely have the jetway customization feature, maybe it will look different, but it's clearly an important feature, even more so in MSFS, which seems to have a very fast growing freeware community.

Will I be able to choose from multiple ground handler companies depending on the airport just like the P3D version?

Btw. Any new previews coming soon?   ;D

We think so.

It's not something that will come quickly. First Asobo/MS must complete the SDK.

It looks great, and is one of the best looking add ons I have seen. I do have a couple of questions though. I only use FS2020 and I know the problems you are having with porting it due to the limits of the SDK etc but when it is ready, will I be able to edit the passengers at all ? e.g. Change skin colours/tones ?  Or add clothing, alter it's colours etc (Flying out of cold airports into hot ones and vice versa.)

Many thanks in advance and apologies if I am asking in the wrong place.

We can't possibly know now. I don't see any limitations in theory, but we must first wait to get back the missing features in the SDK before knowing for sure.

The current version of GSX for P3D can do this with SODE jetways, so I don't know why they wouldn't implement this.

We'll initially work on the core GSX features, jetways were always part of the L2 Expansion and required SODE so, our decisions about jetways will depend mainly on future SODE availability in MSFS, which in turn depends on the same SDK features we require for GSX.

Will GSX have passenger loading with this release or will you make another in the future?

This is looking amazing - Thanks for the screen shots.
Would it be possible to add passenger and flight integration to the futrue road map? The functionality that is no longer available in FS Passengers is sorely missed and whilst their are other products on the market, they have never achieved the same level of immersion as FS Passengers.

GSX has always produced top quality results and this level of immersion would be great in msfs 2020

regards
Daz

And that's still nothing.

That Pushback is exactly the same model we used for P3D, which auto-magically looks better, just because the PBR engine in MSFS is better, the video was more like a proof of concept to show we can control the vehicle and its animations from our existing code.

We'll shortly release something showing some of our "next-gen" vehicles, entirely remodeled from scratch with an even higher level of quality so, if you like that one, be prepared to be amazed for what's coming next...

We'll first try to obtain the same functionality as the current GSX in MSFS, which includes visible passengers of course. After the product will be out, we can start adding new features.

I tried hard not to comment, but I am hyped now. So glad to see that slowly but surely, with Microsoft adding more and more SDK functionalities required for this to happen, one can finally expect a proper ground handling addon for MSFS.

Cannot wait to see what you guys are about to tease us with.
Patiently waiting with my wallet ready ;D

Hey FSDT, sorry to bother, but will GSX have the functionality to request a certain gate upon arrival as it did in FSX?

If so, that is absolutely BRILLIANT because some of the Asobo handcrafted airports don't assign gates (they send you to hangar parking at EGLL as an example).  GSX could really make some of the Asobo handcrafted airports enjoyable!  Yours already work right! ;D

Sorry, we are moving to a new server, so we removed some old files in the process. This thread is from months ago, we published more recent previews (one in video) and we are reworking almost all models to look even better than they did in P3D, and we'll likely release a new video shortly.

We haven't really promised anything and in any case, "soon" can mean anything, especially in software development, when things changes every day, new problems and new features are found and added constantly so, every plan can change at any time.

Nothing has changed, we are working on it full time, most of the time is being spent remodeling ALL objects and animations to current graphic standards, so they won't look out of place in MSFS. While we do that, we are also waiting for a few improvements in the SDK that would made the product more user friendly.

this is rewarding to know.  I guess many enthusiasts don't even know this is under development.  Maybe a timely announcement by FSDT on the MSFS forum would be prudent?

As explained in other threads/forums, the GSX code is basically done and working, but now we'll have to start the very long work of redoing ALL models and animations for MSFS, almost entirely from scratch, because for GSX it's worth it.

And, for this exact reason, we won't like to publish any images/videos unless we remodeled everything and not a single piece of the old graphic is in there.

This because, in the current age of social media, uninformed comments and 10-seconds attention span, I'm fairly sure if we showed something containing existing models/animations/textures, people will complain "it's still a P3D port" or "they still have the OMSI granny", or something like that.

Honestly, speaking on behalf of many simmers, we would be happy to see some progress. When you showed the push-back tug animation more than 1 year ago, I think that even the more demanding customer would have assumed that the MSFS version of GSX represent a huge step forward, with a complete usage of technologies and graphics enhancements that MSFS can provide.

Im honestly have to agree with Umberto on this one,

If i was a developer and was redoing a whole product, i wouldnt want to show the old models and textures of it.

PMDG hasnt showed any of their MSFS projects other than the NG3 because theyve done the mapping and retexturing, etc. RSR would never show a product unless its ready to be shown. Its the same situation here FSDT isnt ready to show GSX because of remodeling and texturing, but they are keeping you inform how it is coming along. hopefully by end of march or beginning of summer we get previews or even a release of gsx because I myself personally cant stand the default ground services.
