When the USN transitioned from the Tomcat to the Super Hornet the E model doens't need a RIO but the F does. So when Tomcat squadrons went to the E model what happened to their RIOs? Did they just goto other F model squadrons? They can't be pilots that's why they're RIOs in the first place. It'd cost too much to train them as Electronic Warfare Officers for an E-2 or Ep-3 or an NFO for a P-3. I'm sure some retired but some were young enough to stay in and where are they?
