Title: Marshaller not visible - head only
Post by: Drumcode on February 12, 2012, 10:40:32 pm
I flew in to two different airports this weekend to test GSX and I only see marshallers head, the rest of the body is not visible. Don't even where to start troubleshooting this?

You probably have the "Advanced animations" option turned off in the FSX graphic settings.

GSX Graphic Settings? Where is this option? When I access 'GSX Settings' from the menu all I get is Timing and Audio settings. What am I doing wrong?

Nope, it is checked. I'm trying it again tonight, will let you know when I'm done.

Did a short flight from KORD-KOKC, still no marshaller. :/

As usual, always include which gate you selected, otherwise it's impossible to understand the problem.

Return leg from KOKC to ORD. Everything fine through the flight, I arrive at B12 at ORD not only to no marshaller but to no buildings too.

If you were able to call GSX after landing at KORD (otherwise you wouldn't be able to select the parking in the first place), it means that everything ran correctly so, the only possible reason why you didn't see buildings at KORD, is that you still have the old version, GSX requires to use current 2.0 update, which is a free download.

If, instead, when you landed at KORD that wasn't any GSX menu, that's an entirely different issue.

I can bet I have the ORDv.2 installed. How can I confirm this?

Check if the sim.cfg in the Simobjects\Misc\FSDT_OhareX folder and the KORD_sf.bgl in the fsdreamteam\OHareX\scenery folder are both dated 2011

Both folders show 2011.

Are you sure you were able to call the GSX menu in a empty KORD ?

This can only happen if you have an old version of it, or you don't have it installed at all, which seems very unlikely.

I was able to do this yes. The message displayed that the marshaller was dispatched to gate B12 or something like that. Should I perhaps reinstall GSX?

You might like to try this, as it has often solved graphics problems.  Go to your FSX.cfg file (if you don't know where it is, say here with which Operation System you are using).  Back it up to your desktop.

Go to the section that reads [GRAPHICS] and place the following in that section:-

HIGHMEMFIX=1

Click file/save

If that does not help with your problem, thenyou can remove the line or replace with your original FSX.cfg file.

Already have the setting in the fsx.cfg

I'm getting a little frustrated here Virtuali, initially I saw no marshaller. Now I have disappearing buildings and partially visible GSX vehicles. I need some help please.

Could you please specify how to uninstall GSX so I can try this again?

Your problem doesn't have anything to do with GSX, which is further proved by the fact you even have partial buildings (GSX won't affect buildings in any way)

Check you are not running FSX into XP Compatibility mode, and be sure you have turned off Transparency Antialiasing ( or Adaptive Antialiasing, it's the same thing ) in the video card control panel.

Also, try to update your video drivers, and also reset the video drivers control panel to all default settings.

This fixed my problem. For whatever reason the entire Bojote's tweak went missing from my fsx.cfg. Thank you sir for pointing me in the right direction.

Umbrto, first of all I wanted to thank you for the support and apologize for wasting your time. :)

Hi Drumcode, glad this worked for you.  It's one of those tweaks that seems to be a must have in FSX.  As, has been said it's nothing to do with GSX, but a problem with memory and graphics.  Anyone else reading this with the problem should give it a go before asking Virtuali for help.  He has enough on his plate!!
