Title: GSX`s problems with PMDG Boeing 777-300ER
Post by: Red_Grach25 on January 08, 2026, 04:49:18 pm
These issues have been around for years. They are present in all Microsoft Flight Simulators.

1. Sometimes, when calling a jetway, the cabin door doesn't open automatically. If the doors do open automatically at some airports, for some reason only the left entry door opens, and it can't be closed while GSX is running.

2. When performing catering, when the vehicles lower the platform after the doors are closed, these doors open again, requiring them to be closed again.

3. Very often, when calling refuelling, the vehicle gets stuck near the wing and won't leave under any circumstances. Because of this, calling boarding is impossible.

4. During boarding, after the baggage has been loaded, the baggage doors cannot be closed. Only after boarding will be complete
Here I have listed the issues with GSX working with the PMDG 777-300ER. I would really like these issues fixed.

All these issues are caused by PMDG having added some GSX automation that is likely clashing with GSX internal automation, since they added it without even asking for any help or clarification.

Since several versions ago, we added some LVars developers can write to, to disable GSX own automation, in case they have issues coordinating with it and have full control over doors automation, so PMDG can choose to use them, if they want to control door automation with GSX entirely from their own code.

Or, they can chose to remove GSX automation entirely, so it's likely it would start working better (like it did before they added their own automation), it's their choice.

there are similar issues with the 737-800 in 2024.

in the off chance this turns into a "it's a GSX problem" vs. "it's a PMDG problem" type situation with no end in sight - what about possibly adding a setting to the GSX settings dialog for disabling all automation for a given aircraft? just a thought. thanks for your time!

Luckily the 737-800 for 2020 isn't affected yet. I guess it stays that way, cause PMDG won't do anything for the 2020 version anymore. Which, in this case, is good.
But the 777 products are 'infected' with the door demon, like the 2024 version. From all the possible solutions, PMDG chose the most stupid one.  It is part of the 'we don't care what happens around us' attitude there.

As I've said:

Since several versions ago, we added some LVars developers can write to, to disable GSX own automation

Those LVars are fully documented, so if you have access to any kind of utility (Mobiflight, SpadNext, AxesAndAoh, FSUIPC) that can write to LVars, you can do it yourself.

It's not very user friendly, because those were supposed to be used by airplane developers from their code, in case they wanted to disable the GSX own automation. Basically, we added those for PMDG to use...
