Hi, For over a month now, the GSX jetways have not been moving.
I have tried to resolve this on Discord, but without success.
The airports are not third-party, even though the real standards are extremely rare since Asobo improves its airports with each SUxx update, but the result is clear: they appear, sometimes detached from the building, but do not move during boarding.
As soon as I disable the airport in the FSDT Installer configuration, I get the MSFS jetways back, which work perfectly.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled, disabled/reactivated, unlinked/relinked, etc... none of these scenarios work, including the offline installer.
Addon Manager is excluded from the antivirus.
Thx for your help

Also have a look at the following link:

Unfortunately, for unknown reasons, Umberto has buried his head in the sand and is no longer responding.

thx. In fact, I think that FSDT Team have to compare its development environment (in witch the video show a good jetways behaviour) with another in which our problem occurs (step by step : OS, files, number of files, dates, etc...)
If a member of this team read me, I propose my entire collaboration to find the solution sending my own environment

Unfortunately, for unknown reasons, Umberto has buried his head in the sand and is no longer responding.
What do you mean "unknown reasons" ? I clearly explained the reason:
1) Even if I was never able to replicate the problem supposedly caused by the extra comma in the .json file, we fixed it anyway, because it WAS an error in the .json
2) I already proven to you the problem doesn't happen on the SAME gate/airport you said didn't work so no, nobody has " buried his head in the sand", I spent my time following your report, I spent my time recording a video showing the problem doesn't happen, and I spent my time clearly explaining what to check, in both simulators.
https://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,33752.msg211334.html#msg211334
And of course, this without forgetting there's another, NEW, issue, which is happens only in MSFS 2024 SU4 BETA, that has jetways completely inoperative, even without GSX installed.
-
Sorry, but I think you did not get the point.
I use MSFS2020 with GSX 3.7.1 and followed your instructions given in the other post. I disabled ALL jetways in GSX and tried Gate 51 @ EDDE and the standard jetways are working OK. Then I enabled the GSX-jetways for EDDE only - not any other airport - and the jetways were not connected and I got the "bad jetway data"-message. EDDE is a bare default airport in my sim.
So this problem is clearly GSX-related since it does not happen without GSX.
I can reproduce this with every(!) bare default airport I have - same problem everywhere.
I will really appreciate to get this solved.
-
Sorry, but I think you did not get the point. I enabled the GSX-jetways for EDDE only - not any other airport - and the jetways were not connected and I got the "bad jetway data"-message. EDDE is a bare default airport in my sim.
Why both of you keep insisting I'm "not getting the point" ? Have you even read what I wrote in the post I linked ? I tested EXACTLY that airport, default EDDE, in MSFS 2020 and as you could see in the video I posted, those are clearly GSX Jeways, and they work!
The only possible reasons why this can happen are:
1) You don't have the latest update installed. Yes, you said you have version 3.7.1, but that doesn't mean anything more than the manifest.json for GSX is from version 3.7.1, doesn't say anything about the rest of the files, and the Jetway replacement files have been updated recently to match the SU16 database, so it's possible that if your local cloudflare node wasn't updated when you updated to 3.7.1, you might have got an outdated version of the GSX replacement jetways so, try again to update now.
OR
2) There might be remnants of a previous version of the replacement files in the fsdreamteam-world-of-jetways package. They are not supposed to be there anymore, they are in a separate package now (fsdreamteam-world-of-jetways package-2020), and the installer WILL remove the old files from the old location when you perform an update, but if it couldn't for some reason (antivirus interference, permissions problems), you might still have a duplicate outdated version in the fsdreamteam-world-of-jetways package folder, so try updating again. To be clear, this folder:
\Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways
Should contain only ONE single .BGL named FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL, if you have the other .bgl with the ICAO codes, that's wrong and they are supposed to be removed by the installer, because they are now located here:
\Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways-2020\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways
3) Check if the 3 GSX packages in the Community folder are Symbolic links (small arrow on them) and NOT real folders (no arrow). If they are real folders, it's either because you must have copied their folders manually or you restored the Community from a backup, so the restore translated the Symbolic links into real folders, so the simulator is using an outdated copy. If this is the case, REMOVE all GSX folders from the Community, enter the FSDT Installer and click RELINK, to recreate the links as they are supposed to be.

Hi Umberto,
Sorry to jump in, but I feel you just pointed all of us in the right direction. :)
Lets hope we can finally fix this!
On the folder you indicated first (\Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways), I have a folder named "texture":
Inside of this texture folder, I have a bunch of .bgl files, instead of just 1 like you mentioned. I assume this is wrong and is what's causing everyone to have problems:
Tell me what to do please. Should I manually delete all of this files, except "FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL"? -- Well, actually it doesn't have any file with that name on this folder structure (\Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways). :(
Also in this folder "Addon Manager\MSFS" there are 3 subfolders:
Inside the new "Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways-2020\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways", I also have a bunch of .bgl files with ICAO codes:
Please point me in the right direction on how to proceed. I'm certain we're very close to fixing everyone's problem with the Jetways in MSFS 2020. :)
Cheers!

Not according to your screenshot, which shows .dds and .json files only, so I can't say if I can't see .bgl files because the screenshot doesn't show them, or I can't see them because they are not there, which is normal. In the "texture" folder, or course. Its PARENT folder, instead, should contain only 1 .BGL, named FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL
So, to recap:
1) Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways
Should contains only ONE .BGL named FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL
2) Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways\texture
Should contain only .DDS and .JSON files, nothing else, for a total of 46 files
3) Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways-2020\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways\
Should contain a VARIABLE number of .BGL (depending how many airports you Enabled), a file for every airport. I have 874 files, for example.
4) ALL 3 GSX folders in the Community folder must be links (having a small arrow on them), if one (or all) of them it's not, REMOVE THEM and Click RELINK in the FSDT Installer.

Hi, I have the same problem, and the question asked concerns the absence of "FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL" in the directory where it should be, in which we only have the "Texture" directory.
Best regards
Environment: MSFS 2020
Add-on manager excluded from antivirus
GSX reinstalled this morning

You are right, it was my mistake. In this folder "\Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways\texture" there's no bgl files, but instead of 46 files I have these 23 files:
The problem might be, that in the folder "Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways" there's nothing present besides the folder named "texture" (missing the file "FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL"):
So for point 1) there's already a problem, because I don't have that .bgl file :(
For point 2) it's basically correct (maybe), because I disabled some jetways due to 3rd party airports:
For point 3) I also have 874 files inside (although I disabled some jetways...)
For point 4) it's also ok, I have the 3 links:
Not sure if it's worth mentioning but in the old "Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways" I have this:
Guess it could be linked to the fact that I don't seem to have that "FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL" file?
I did a full search for this file and it doesn't exist. Might this be the problem?
Tried using a VPN pointed at USA to see the cloudfare server would be different and performed a full "check" through the FSDT installer as well as running the FSDT live updater. I'm still missing that .bgl file :(
Noticed this during the live updater (guess it considers it's already updated and nothing is missing?)
Thanks! :)

I second the Sevlagoth-Post. Exactly the same here after I ran another update. The mentioned bgl-file is also missing on my system and I only have 23 json-files in the texture-folder but no dds-files.
-
I’ve updated, uninstalled/reinstalled, etc etc etc.
Still not working right. For now I’m on defaults. It’s the only way they work. But only on my plane.
No idea of how to update cloudfare nodes. I’m no IT tech.
-
I confirm, there is no FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL in Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways, only a TEXTURE folder.
Furthermore, the fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways-2020\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways folder is empty; the BGL files are located in the Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways-2020_backup\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways folder.
Installing with a VPN (Nord VPN), I even turned off my internet router's firewall.
So we are missing this famous BGL file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways\scenery\FSDT_WorldOfJetways, I think the whole solution is there.
-
Yes, it's there, that's almost certain.
It took a long time to get there, and the argument about VPNs and "cloudfare nodes" is, although a possible cause, unacceptable to a customer who has paid for software.
If it turns out that this file is the only one missing, then every effort must be made to download it, even if this has to be done outside the FSDT Installer.
-
If anyone could be kind enough to share this FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL with us if they have it, it would be greatly appreciated. ;)

Everything was just fine for me before the 3.7.1 update. Heck, even before the 3.7.0 update.
Ever since we were instructed to download the offline installer, and ditch the regular one, the program has been FUBAR.
Not requesting a refund just yet, but it’s frustrating to have this program that’s broken
-
I agree – the .BGL named FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL is missing for me too, as are only 23 .JSON files.
As a test, I deleted the entire Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways folder.
I then started the update with the current version 3.7.1 using the "Check" button in GSX Pro.
Result: The .BGL file is still missing, and there were only 23 files in the Texture folder.
I would also like to add that I have already run the update check more than 10 times since version 3.7.1 was released.
Since the update via VPN is apparently not working either, we are still waiting for a solution.
-
its not missing on my end, so those that are missing it all must have something in common with each other to have this missing bgl file
-
Thanks, I tested it.
The jetways actually have a building connection now, and they can be controlled.
Unfortunately, the part of the jetway that connects to the building is now pink.
yes we are now missing files in the TEXTURE folder, Umberto said that this folder should contain 46 DDS and JSON files, I only have 23 JSON files for my part.
Thanks to RSKOKI who provided us with the missing FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL, we still have to find the missing texture files, but we are moving in the right direction.
-
Hooray, it works!
Many thanks to everyone who helped pinpoint the problem and provided missing data.
Let's just hope Umberto can figure out why 23 files in the texture folder and the .BGL file are missing, even after a fresh install.

Let's just hope Umberto can figure out why 23 files in the texture folder and the .BGL file are missing, even after a fresh install.
I removed all posts about the shared .BGL and textures, which are no longer required (and we don't want to have a link on a file that might be updated in the future so it would create similar issues if somebody downloaded it after an official update).
The problem wasn't GSX, it wasn't an installer bug, and it wasn't a CDN issue either.
It was a bug on our upload program, which automatically sync the update server: it was programmed to IGNORE the whole "scenery" folder, which WAS correct when all jetways-related files were in the same folder, because jetways .bgl and airport services were always downloaded on the fly (because it was faster to extract them from a single .ZIP than individually checking one by one).
However, after we split the airports .BGL into the -2020 specific package, ignoring the "scenery" folder would cause not having the files required for the connection bridges to work ( the FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.bgl and its textures ) on the server itself, the folder was just not there, because the uploaded was programmed to ignore it.
The key sentence here is your "even after a fresh install".
It's not like that, it's "ONLY after a fresh install". That explains why some users (including me) HAD the missing .BGL file and textures, and other didn't. Those affected were only those doing a fresh reinstall, if you just updated from a previous version, it would have worked, because when updating, the installer JUST removes the airport files from the old folder to the new -2020 package, but it would keep the FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.bgl and the texture folder.
I verified it again now, by manually removing the Addon Manager\MSFS\fsdreamteam-gsx-world-of-jetways folder\scenery folder, and performed an update: all files are now restored correctly.
-
Perfect, we found the solution to the missing files, great for new installations that the problem is now corrected in the installer.
EDIT : I just tested after uninstalling GSX and reinstalling cleanly, you have to do a first installation of GSX and then run a check for updates so that the TEXTURE folder is complete (46 files) and the FSDT_WorldOfJetways_Lib.BGL file is present.
Installation alone is not enough, you must run a check afterwards so that the installer downloads them.

Installation alone is not enough, you must run a check afterwards so that the installer downloads them.
When performing an installation, the last step is always an automatic update, otherwise you would be stuck in version 3.5.9, which is the one downloaded initially from the big ZIP files.
