Looks pretty nice. :)

OMG! Absolutely GORGEOUS. I drive thru that underpass between the terminal and RWY 09/27 every time I take my wife to work (United Flight Attendant) - PERFECT rendition! You guys are spot on so far! Cannot WAIT for this puppy. ;D
-
bring it on!i have a cc ready ;D looks great, can't wait the airport and terminal buildings
-
Make sure you put the signs on the road ways like. I-45, I-69/US Hwy 59(these are on the over pass. Then the fence line to the right and left of the road going under the bridges in these pics).

Don't you see the in the footer of the photo, clearly labeled "Work in Progress"

This looks promissing!

Looks great!

Stunning! IAH is very similar to IAD, in that the majority of the field is surrounded by trees. From what I see here, that important feature is faithfully reproduced, along with the winding network of roads and drainage between 26L and 26R.
Brings a tear to my eye.

As I hand you a tissue. George Bush has a lot more trees surrounding the airport vs what we are seeing. Still looks good so far. You are right though great comparison to KIAD. When they add this addition I will weep as well ;D

Yeah, by the way, as of last night anyway - new signs going up soon - posts for updated signage all over the airport (they've been going up for a few weeks) so those may change from the current hodge-podge of blue to something much more modern and cool - very industrial looking highway-scale new posts everywhere.
I'll see if I can grab a pic when new ones start to go to illustrate so you may want to wait til the end for those things (sure you would anyway)!! ;)
-
Looks great indeed :) I am really looking forward to add this airport to my collection since its a United Hub.

I litteraly live next door to the airport and I don't see any new signage. I will have to swing by.

Yup, all the terminal signs over JFK Blvd and Will Clayton were redone. To be honest though, they don't look all that different.
Up on Terminal C parking garage right now, waiting for sunset for some night spotting. Temperature is just great.

I assume you live in Houston too....Do you spot over at the air park off Greens road just south of rwy 27(I think)?
-
Yup I live in Houston too, and yup I spot from that parking lot and all around the perimeter fence.

What brings tears to my eyes is my dwindling bank account reminding me how much I've spent on this hobby. ;)

Don't forget...they've been doing this for how many years? Something tells me they won't simply "forget" signage. ;)

Stunning shots there Umberto! Can't wait for this to be released!

When will this be released ? I am anxious to buy :)
-

They don't give out release dates.....When KIAH is done and gone through beta testing it then will be released ;)
-
Any updates on Houston? NOT asking for release date!!!
-
I hope I'm not asking to much... It's been awhile since the last preview. I know you guys are busy, but I would like to see some new screen shots. Thank You for your hard work

I agree.

Yeah I'm interested as well..

My guess is that they are working on KLAS v.2 ;) and then they will have focus on KIAH.

Umberto just said today:
It's not being worked on at this time (we are very busy finishing KIAH and another very large unannounced airport), but it is strongly considered for the next scenery being revamped, like we did for JFK.

Judging from past scenery releases that take around 9 months or so, I figure KIAH will be ready around April, that would be about 9 months since the first KIAH pic was posted and KIAH Backdoor opened.
I had no idea that FSDT was working on another unannounced airport, but judging from this post at AirdalyX http://airdailyx.blogspot.com/2014/01/new-orleans-gets-major-upgrade.html , I am wondering if they are doing KMSY? I am not really interested in KMSY, but would buy it as another destination that is close to KIAH and KDFW.
I am hoping that its KATL as I dont really care much for the Imaginesim version.

If you read the comments, Blueprint Simulations is doing KMSY.
Frankly, I don't have the slightest idea what the unannounced airport is, but it's probably a major U.S hub, I know that.
It could be KATL, I know FSdreamteam has hinted about KATL before... :-X

I like to see SLC or MSP receive FSDT quality before ATL....... ;)

I actually wouldn't be surprised if its ATL since they have mentioned it before and its a large hub. Although it would really be a shocker if they did KSEA since all developers seem to stay as far away from doing that airport as possible. I remember not long ago either George or Martin at FlyTampa gave it some serious thought but then declined on doing it stating performance problems. Personally I dont find KSEA to be bad on performance when just using GEX or FTXG in the area, but once you pile in the ORBX PNW and try to add a 3rd party KSEA to the mix, performance can quickly become a concern.

I'm 100% sure that FSDT can handle KSEA if they want to.
-
FSDT would never do KSEA, it's way to close to CYVR. And FSDT wouldn't want to get into the OOM muck again.

Truthfully would like to see someone do KPDX Airport scenery, haven't had a good PDX since FS9 days when I believe it was either Simflyers or Cloud9 I don't remember.. But its been a long while since there has been a good PDX scenery.. Wouldn't mind seeing someone do that one.

I agree the FlightZone KPDX package by Vauchez was one of the best scenery packages ever released for FS9. Even though at the time it wasn't an area I was really interested in, the quality of it made me a fan from the time I installed it. The only bad part for me was that I didn't have a rig that could run it very well at the time, but I still enjoyed it none the less. To bad he never converted it to FSX like he originally said he was going to do.
On top of that, when the ORBX PNW launched they said they were going to do KPDX and if I recall, Bill Womack even started doing KPDX then cancelled it. That was really the only reason I bought PNW was to have a good KPDX and surrounding area.
Perhaps in the future, after more popular US airports are done, maybe FSDT, Flightbeam or FlyTampa will consider doing KPDX.
-
Yeah the Flightzone KPDX was off the hook. I too wasn't interested in Portland until I had seen that scenery. Someone mentied Simflyers. They used to make good scene rise too. Matter of fact. They made the last GOOD kiah. We won't talk about Blueprint. ;)
-
We won't talk about Blueprint.
Who? ;D
Unfortunately, they continue to hold the market share on airports like Memphis or Dallas Love, nobody else will do them for various reasons.

Unfortunate is right. :D

I don't mean to get everyone off track with our beloved IAH scenery forum, So I guess we should get back to Houston talk after all that's what this forum is all about is our beloved IAH.. However I just wanted to throw out there after IAH that's one of the Airports if not FSDT someone I hope will do KPDX.. I don't care who just hope someone will do a descent KPDX scenery for FSX cause has not had a good one since FS2004 days or whenever that was done.
Now back to IAH talk.. :)

True nothing is completely wrong with them if your wanting scenery & not an airport you don't travel too often & don't mind not having non of the jet ways meet your aircraft, then they make pretty good scenery that's not hard on your computers. However when IAH or places are most visited places & would like to have the Jet-ways available is the reason I'm glad FSDT is doing IAH & IAH is finally getting the treatment it deserves & finally will have jet-ways to meet my aircraft except on Terminal B where certain gates will have portable air stairs with covers over them that will meet the ERJ's but on the gates with Jet-ways they will have Jet-ways that will finally meet the aircraft & will have the monorail running & IAH will seem more life like.. halleluiah !!
Also don't forget FSDT the one C gate is tricky there is no gate C-38 instead its C-39..

OMG! I would LOVE to see them do Love Field. Southwest HQ and now expanding operations due to the expiration of the Wright Amendment, now allowing SWA to fly to many nationwide non-stop cities from DAL. Plus a historic airport (JFK's last arrival before his untimely death, etc). But I'm partial and I know that move would piss off a lot of folks who are unhappy with them having both DFW & IAH already in TX.
My second choice (and a good one for a hub) would be EWR - also untouched by Microsoft and I think that's a big mistake. I know everyone is worried about frame rates and that may be a legitimate concern...time will tell.
Other good choices would be HOU, MEM, ANC, or CLT. :)

I know this question may get some grief, but is there any update to the progress of IAH?? U guys are usually pretty quick with updates once past the early phases of design. Considering there have only been 2 WIP posts since July of last year, has me concerned with the well being of FSDT. I hope everything is ok internally with the group. I would hate to see such a good group struggle.

Well, on the CYVR project they went about 6 months between showing the ground textures and showing the terminal renderings, so if that's any indication, we could be looking at another 2 months or so before we see any update on IAH. Maybe more, considering the complexity of the building shapes as Mr. Flightbeam (I think) once commented on. I'm sure they are hard at work with the modeling.

If you've followed Umberto and his team for any length of time and read Umbertos posts when asked this question, his standard reply is that they will only show screen shots when they have something of substance to show. In this case, I would imagine that doing all the complex models and textures is more time consuming than doing the ground work.

There's nothing wrong with the group or anything to be worried about. They are working on KIAH, the "surprise" airport, updates to GSX and maybe even updates on older airports. A lot on the table for sure, so no need to be worried.
If you go back and look at the Backdoor section of older airports, you will notice that it takes about 9 months or so, give or take a few weeks, from the time the first shot is release until completion. If this holds true for KIAH, it should be ready somewhere around April. Once they get closer and have more to show the screen shots will start flowing.
-
Extremely excited for this release of KIAH. I am making advanced preparations to get the overall area ready, meaning I have Megascenertearth v2 in place and with their latest release of megascenery ultra-res Houston, all I'm missing is FSDT KIAH! I cannot wait to do local flights from KDFW and KIAH, and so forth! I am most certainly ready to make this purchase when it comes out.
I hope it will be optimized and support all the new technology and features of P3D v2.x, since I no longer will be using FSX. I have decided that its time to move on.
-
I'm with you on Patiently but eagerly awaiting IAH too with Mega scenery earth Southeast Texas & all I need is FSDT IAH but in the mean time I'm using the boring but atleast do able IAH from BluePrint in the mean time so I atleast have a IAH to fly in & out of until FSDT finishes they're, but then once released I will just replace Blueprint's with FSDT's version.. Can hardly wait for that because I'll finally have active Jetways which I don't have with Blueprints & I'll get to see the monorail running above my gates just like in real life.. It will sure be a wonderful thing once it does come out to have an actively working IAH scenery !! :) I'm looking forward to see how the New Terminal B will turn out too because really its still not complete at the real IAH, last I seen of it they were still working on finishing the rest of the South Portion. So hopefully even though that may cause a small delay in releasing FSDT because I would like FSDT to do it right & wait for them to completely finish the rest of South Terminal B so atleast that's all finished before they release it to us. Then when the real IAH does the north Side of Terminal B FSDT will just have to do 1 update for that when they complete the North Side of Terminal B.. I think the real IAH Terminal B is almost complete but last I seen of it, still lack the one side being officially complete.. Also Once I get another new PC to replace one of my older PC's I have, I probably will begin starting To modify & upgrade myself to the newer Sim out there that everyone else is going too & I'll kind of run both for awhile I slowly migrate to the newer one P3D v.2..
-
Not too mention, they are working on Surprise scenery they said on there FB page.. So no need in worrying.. There doing just fine..
Boy oh boy cowings, I really hope English is not your native tongue! :D

I think the "natives are getting a little restless" now.
I, for one, am eagerly awaiting KIAH and I am too old and bold enough not to express my anticipation for this scenery. Presently I am using the default rather than the commercial one. It was not only that the jetways did not move but other things like the lights hanging in mid-air and, the red strobes all blinking at the same time. :(
Any word from FSDT would be greatly appreciated . . . . . . .
-
I say new screenshots showing progress of IAH should come around the corner in due time. I know its rough and have to wait for them but we have to go through this.
-
Even the screens they showed in October were well along in development, imagine what it looks like now... ;)
-

Far along the pipeline I hope.....
-
I was just looking at the real IAH's terminal layout.. Now there predicting the one remaining part of the new South B terminal won't be completed until October.. :( Not sure what this will mean or put a delay in FSDT version of IAH or if they will release it as is & just update it when real IAH gets done with that portion of it. However they won't have those gates available for the one side of the new terminal B until the real IAH gets done & make it available & listed. So not really sure how this is going to play out. We'll just have to wait & see or hear what Virtualli has to say about this delay in Terminal B section & see how he & his team from FSDT wants to handle this delay with Terminal B..

I would suspect Umberto and the team have an idea of what it will look like, even with the delay.

I would prefer the release with minor differences than delays to produce perfection. Updates are always to follow as with all previous sceneries.

Does this project have the possiblility of coming to FS9? Or FSX/ P3D only? I scowered this section of the forum and found no idication unless its to early in devolopment.

I would assume that FS9 has met it's maker in terms of new development. :'(
-
Yea I would think so.. Especially with FSX & P3D V.2 both ruling it right now..

We said several times that our last product for FS9 was KLAX, and this was in 2011.

For the most part yes.. Companies like FSDT, Aerosoft and Flightbeam moved to FSX and P3D awhile ago. However, there are still plenty of scenery companies making stuff for FS9. Imaginesim, Lativ VFR, Drzewiecki (UUEE coming and NYC airports), Skysoft, thaicreation, UK2000, sunskyjet, FLYTAMPA (possibly not much longer) etc.... Oh well. FSDT and others knew they wouldn't lose much by losing customers like me who purchesed EVERYTHING they offered for FS9 and would not be moving on to their FSX products. Probably not much market lost. Sorry back on topic. But just wanted to say there are other great developers for FS9 still.
-
Yep back to Topic.. Houston KIAH :)
Speaking of our Topic of IAH.. apparently Terminal B gate B-11 is finished because one of the flights I was going to do I noticed is out B-11 even though on the list I shared with you all from United.com Terminal layout page it doesn't show Terminal B-11 but if you look up tonight's flight to Mexico City Flt# 4235 is operating out of B-11 so the one side must be finished with gate B-11 even though on that page it said some of those gates wouldn't be available until October..
Just talk to one of my friends that actually works the new Terminal B & that one part that was the concerned was told tonight that it would be done by this March 23..
-
I do not think it is unreasonable to request/inquire about progress on this scenery. It has been, at least, 5 months since last report or photos. I would appreciate any news, whether good or bad, concerning progress.
-
No news is good news. Showing too much too soon just makes people ask for release dates, wait until it when it reaches beta.
-
Well, on the CYVR project they went about 6 months between showing the ground textures and showing the terminal renderings
Based on this, I'm thinking we could possibly see terminal renderings some time this month.
