Hallo FSDT Team,
Basel was announced a long time ago.
Since that time I have not read anything about this project or
seen. I think the project is finished or is still working on it.

We announced to be working on Basel about a year ago and, since almost all our recent sceneries took about 2 years to complete, it means we are about in the middle of development and it's all progressing normally so, there's nothing really new to announce.
-
Thanks,
i am waiting. :D

You can follow the developpements from here: https://www.instagram.com/max.addante/ (https://www.instagram.com/max.addante/)
The guy is a 3D artist and posts pics from time to time. I wish he would post more often, it's really fascinating.

More and more gorgeous pics on Massimiliano's instagram.
I can barely hold the excitation!
I am already working on several representative, but realistic, AI flightplans for both civilian and VIP airliners for BSL.

With now well over 2 years, are there any news regarding the development?

It will be out when it's ready. You don't want it *before* it is, don't you ?

If anything I hope it may also be ported into MFS2020. I'm no longer buying anything for P3D as of yet.

It's a full PBR scenery, made from the ground up for a PBR simulator so, we could export it to every simulator that supports PBR, and it won't look out of place in it.

If I may request one thing from FSDT :
Could you include night screenshots of runway lights and taxi lights in the screenshots usually published on the shops ? I will most likely buy (unless the night lights are P3D default...) but this will greatly increase my chances of buying your airport.
I don't think I'm the only one to care about those things.
Thanks !

All our products are available in Trial version, that's why we don't publish many screenshots, which are usually doctored by almost everybody ( we don't like that ) and especially night is so subjective and so dependent on your screen calibration, that the only way to really see of the scenery works for you, is to try it on your system.
-
Yes, that is correct I forgot about that feature. That will do it, thanks :)

Hum, no custom runway lights ?!
I don't understand all the effort and the modelling on things I'll never look into (the terminal for instance) and not much attention to the lighting I will (or would have seen) see at each night landing.

If an airport doesn't have special systems, like THL, RWSL, it's not worth making them custom, that cause other problems with users with wrong mipmap settings, video drivers bugs, etc.

Thanks for the reply,
However, the default P3D floaty runway lights are really bad (they even appear and disappear during takeoff or landing). Disappointed to hear that :/

Another reason for wanting to stay as standard as possible, is to ease the conversion for future flight simulators. Right now, is really not the time for tricks and insanely custom stuff.

I wouldn't call runway lights "insanely custom stuff". You even made custom taxi edge and centre lights lol... And if you ever made custom runway lights, you could have used the same model.
You're not the only one doing that btw, I've been noticing some devs putting so much effort in the modeling of the airport and release it with default lights. From time to time, why not land on it. But when you plan to make it your base, and when you come back from airports with really good runway lights, it will become frustrating. I speak from experience with your own LSGG scenery, at some point I just stopped using it.
Of course, as you may have seen, it won't prevent the majority of gamers to buy your airport. It will only prevent people like me buying it ;D

Yes, they ARE insanely custom stuff, and they have lots of side effects, see some examples of issues users had with custom runway lights:

That's only the first page of issues I found in the forum by simply searching "runway lights", there were 10 pages of results but, you get the idea that custom runway lights DO have issues, because they are an hack, basically, and we do them when it's REQUIRED.
REQUIRED, means an airport has some kind of special system, like THL, FAROS, etc. which we modeled in some airports like JFK or DFW, since there IS such system in real life, but Basel doesn't have any of that so, it wasn't worth to get all the negative side effects, when there was nothing to add to the simulation.
Of course, as you may have seen, it won't prevent the majority of gamers to buy your airport. It will only prevent people like me buying it
Unfortunately, when something like you are asking, if perceived as a "bug" ( which default runway lights clearly don't have ), there are way more people that will NOT buy something with custom lights, because on THEIR systems they cause strange problems that LOOK like bugs.
