From scratch.

Very nice, sir!
Will this airport, feature dynamic shadows (and other techniques) like e.g CYVR?

Fascinating. You guys really do build from the ground up. I've actually never seen how a top tier developer starts a new project. I'm curious how you made all the runways, taxiways and aprons appear etched into a clay surface.

Looks like they've been working on this longer than they let on... usually takes months before they have something to show.

Hello guys. Everything seems real quiet now for a while. Umberto, how are things coming along - still in pregress? If and when any updates are made available, where will they be posted - in this thread or a new thread?
Thanks

We are at THAT time of the progress history of a scenery.
Since we started FSDT, with ALL sceneries we released so far, it always the same:
- We post the initial screenshots. People gets excited
- We start to do the most time consuming, boring and not very screenshot-friendly process that last usually a couple of months or more, which is the ground/taxilines/lights layout.
- While we are in this process, someone ALWAYS raise the question "Why there haven't been new screenshots in a while", so we must explain this again and again...
The issue is, many other developers start a scenery from backwards: from the most exciting and recognizable buildings, like Control Towers, main Terminals, etc. which are way more exciting to post as screenshot. We don't work that way, because it's like building an house starting from the rooftop. We do the long and boring foundations first, but this doesn't allow for very interesting screenshots.
So, as usual, when "that" time in the life of a scenery comes, the reply to this question is as always had: for the first 2-3 months after the development started, don't expect many screenshots. They'll come after we start modeling buildings, which is the last thing to do, and usually the easiest/fastest.
