DX10 problem?
« on: January 25, 2010, 01:57:41 am »
Hi all,

I do have a DX10 problem: all taxiways and runways are covered by a light grey texture which might be caused by DX10. All other FSDT airports don t show these textures although the DX10 box is checked (settings).

Does have anyone else this problem and is there a solution to it?

Greetings.

This happens to me in FSX to but I use DX9. It only occurs when I look at an angle but when I look at a diffrent direction it dissapears.

Our sceneries do not work with DX10, this is not fixable, and is related how the scenery ground is made.

why do all other 6 FSDT airports NOT show these false textures then, eventhough DX10 is active? Only PHNL is concerned!

I confirm that none of our sceneries (except JFK, which is why JFK is listed as DX10 compatible on the Web site ) works properly in DX10 mode.

What actually happens, is not always the same, because it depends *where* the scenery is located, and by the fact that not all our sceneries use the same method to render the ground.

None of them will work properly at night in DX10, for example.

thanks for your explanations.

It is a shame anyway, because a lot of products are not compatible with DX10.

Hope there will be solution to that problem in the future time.

There will be a solution, but it requires the scenery to be made from the start in a very different way.

We are working on a new design method for KDFW, that will be compatible with DX10, but it can't be retrofitted to current sceneries.
