I don't know but I don't trust it. Converting an app to 64bit is not simple, you need to rewrite the code (and some of the code can break when changing). Lockheed Martin says they will look at a 64bit version of Prepar3D but confirmed it can break compatibility (and who knows when there will be a 64bit Prepar3D). This is just an example.

It's clearly a scam, you can't do such a thing with one simple converter like this. This is so ridiculous I can't even imagine how people would fall for this..

AND, why would a company release a "alpha" version of the program, let along CHARGE you for it.

Most fraudulent thing I've seen in awhile.

That's the thing, even if there is such a thing as converting FSX into a 64bit app, there will still be code needed to be changed to suit it and it would take months or years. Most, if not all addons will break as a result of the conversion.

Hm. It's just a 64 Bit environment. But I would like to hear Virtualis opinion on this.

But I also go with you guys. I wouldn't trust.

One question that bugs me, how many people did in fact actually buy the converter?

I hear the first time about it. My fear is a destroyed FSX after installation of this tool :).

I don't think such thing can technically exists.

Just keep in mind it took *years* for Adobe to port Photoshop to 64 bit, and that's a program that generates way more revenues than FSX ever did, so they had most of their resources on it. FSX is task comparable in complexity, in fact it also has started an industry in add-ons, just like Photoshop, that will all need to be ported to 64 bit too, just like Photoshop.

I think that if I made a program that would tweak the frame rate *counter* to show higher numbers, many people will be convinced their sim IS running more smoothly. But I would never think about selling it...

Tom Allensworth of AVSIM is reporting this as a scam, he says there is no such thing as a 32 to 64 bit converter.

Based on the AVSIM forums, it seems all this does is change your FSX.cfg to a very performance friendly group of settings (512 textures, LOD 2.5, etc).  I was sure this was fake in the sense that converting FSX to a true 64 bit program without source code seems likely impossible.  However, I did remain slightly hopeful that someone figured out a way to "hack" some extra VAS.  Alas, it is effectively a scam, doing nothing more than FSX.cfg tweaks that any adept FSX user can do on their own.

From what I've read, .bgl files won't run in a 64-bit environment. Without .bgl files, there is no FSX/P3D.

There will NEVER be a 64-bit flight simulator that is compatible to FSX. That is why P3D is still 32bit to provide compatibility to FSX sceneries.

A 64bit flight simulator would mean a complete new product made from scratch without a chance of having FSX sceneries work in there. Xplane would be such a flight simulator as it has its own format of sceneries.
