Large Airport Light Effects
« on: January 11, 2014, 04:54:33 pm »
I have the most recent LSGG version installed but something doesn't look right: all the lighting effects are way to large, they look enlarged.

Is there a solution for this problem?

Thanks in advance! ;)

Not a problem of the scenery, those lights are not coming from our airport. You must have installed some kind of add-on that replaces the default effects files.

Now I'm not sure if the lights of my LSGG-installation are correct... probably too large?
Any idea which of the default effect files to replace to get the correct lights back? I have a backup of all original FSX folders, but no idea which files to replace ..
Thank You in advance.
Regards
Hans

Most likely some .FX and .BMP files in the Effects folder.

I have the most recent LSGG version installed but something doesn't look right: all the lighting effects are way to large, they look enlarged.

This is the effect used in LSGG for light implementation.
fx_FSDT_LSGGLGT_WHT.fx
This file use the texture below, coming from the default installation of FSX.
fx_2.bmp

There are many add-on that change this texture.

You can also play by reducing parameter in the the .fx file by change the value (4) in our file.

[Particle.0]
Lifetime=0.00, 0.00
Type=19
X Scale=4.00, 4.00
Y Scale=4.00, 4.00

LSGG-PAPI.jpg
Another info for hk66, nothing to do with LSGG but on the second image it shows the papi.
There is a custom parameter that radically modify the size of papi and strobe lights in FSX

RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=2
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=2.0
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=2.0
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=2

Thank You very very much for your quick help!!!

I have changed the values for the apron lights to "2" instead of "8" (i.e. the "4" in Your example) and now I'm really happy with my new apron lights  :D

Now I need just a small hint where I can find the parameters for the papi lights...

Btw: Your support is absolutely fantastic, and also for that I bought nearly all of Your airports!

Regards / cordiali saluti

C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX

RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=2
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=2.0
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=2.0
RUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=2
