GSX crashes
« on: March 09, 2013, 04:30:44 pm »
Hello FSDT

I just lost my nerves with GSX! Whenever I try to use it, after  4-5 minutes I get the error message

"The addon <unknown> causes etc..."

Here's the logfile:

I downloaded the last Version of GSX and the addon manager, but that didn't solve the problem...

couatl v2.0 (build 2348)
panic log started on Thu Mar 07 09:54:35 2013
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "couatl\common\fsm.py", line 67, in executeDoFuncToCompletion
File "couatl\GSX\assistanceServices\passengerStairs.py", line 209, in do
File "couatl\GSX\assistanceServices\baseAssistanceVehicle.py", line 143, in waitDoorState
File "couatl\GSX\assistanceServices\baseAssistanceVehicle.py", line 151, in waitForConditions
File "couatl\GSX\assistanceServices\__init__.py", line 110, in waitForConditions
File "couatl\common\aircraftData.py", line 39, in waitForConditions
  File "couatl\common\aircraftData.py", line 39, in <genexpr>
File "couatl\common\aircraftData.py", line 30, in _executeCalculatorCode
NameError: global name 'logColor' is not defined

It happens with the PMDG 737NGX , QWSim Avro and Aerosoft Airbus X, so probably it has nothing to do with the aircraft. I do use AES to operate the jetty, could this cause a problem?

Thank you for your help and assistance.

Greetings
Michael

Before saying that, you should first try with a default airplane because, you error message seems to indicate it's a problem with only specific airplanes.

Try to Reset the airplane configuration using the GSX airplane configuration editor, this will reset any custom configuration you might have added and will use the one that comes with GSX.

Thank you for your answer.

I placed my RJ100 at the same spot in Manchester EGCC. Then I did the reset of the configuration as you suggested, but this did not help. Then I removed GSX and the GSX Paint Kit and reinstalled it, but still the same error. The sad thing is, even though it is activated in the settings, GSX does not write any Error-File. There's only the log:

I "repaired" FSX with the original dvd with no positive result, still the same error. Here's the last, same position, came when I ordered the pushback truck.

couatl v2.0 (build 2337)
panic log started on Sat Mar 09 20:04:39 2013
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "couatl\common\fsm.py", line 67, in executeDoFuncToCompletion
File "couatl\GSX\assistanceServices\pushBack.py", line 210, in do
File "couatl\GSX\assistanceServices\baseAssistanceVehicle.py", line 146, in waitAllDoorsState
File "couatl\GSX\assistanceServices\baseAssistanceVehicle.py", line 151, in waitForConditions
File "couatl\GSX\assistanceServices\__init__.py", line 110, in waitForConditions
File "couatl\common\aircraftData.py", line 39, in waitForConditions
  File "couatl\common\aircraftData.py", line 39, in <genexpr>
File "couatl\common\aircraftData.py", line 30, in _executeCalculatorCode
NameError: global name 'logColor' is not defined

But having said that, I tried the FSX 747 and the same error occured. But no Error-Message has been written in the .err file...

This shows you "downgraded" Couatl too in the process. Your previous log was from March 7th, with version 2348 (which is the current one), this new low shows an older version.

Reinstall GSX or the Stand-Alone Addon Manager to fix this, and try again.

Thank your again for your answer. So i installed the latest version and tried it with the standard 737, same result. It crashes after I order to clear the gate and get ready for pushback. Unfortunately - again - there is no error message written in the .err. file.

- Is there a way to stop GSX from shutting itself down and "look over" the error?
- Does the FSX GPS Engine or its flight planner affect GSX in any way? Because I think the error appears only when an active flight plan is loaded.

It should't, there's no interaction between them, but that would be something we'll check, even if it's the first time someone reported it.
