KORD in P3D
« on: February 07, 2013, 10:03:23 pm »
Hi,

I try to run KORD in Prepar3D, but I only see the fingers. I try to select the scenery FSX directory and load for Prepar3D Scenery. I test to install it in P3D but doesn´t works too. In FSX it works fine.

This won't work. You have to install in Prepar3D.

Do you use the FSX to Prepar3D Migration tool ? If yes, read here:

You mean you don't have the Addon Manager menu ? Or the Couatl menu ? Or you don't have none of them ?

If your registry keys are wrong, because you used some kind of migration tool or similar trick to move FSX stuff into P3D, it's possible our installer is not updated the correct DLL.XML file.

I tried to install the Addon Manager. But when I start the sim and it put an error "Addon Manager will not run. FSX with SP1 or Acceleration or SP2 is required!". One friend, he´s programmer, saids me it is an error with the bglmanx.dll. I tryed to use other bglmanx.dll (Reinstalling Addon Manger) but it doesn´t work.

That's either your registry keys for Prepar3D or FSX are wrong, pointing to the wrong folders OR you (or some migration tool) has meddled with the executable, like running Prepar3D with a renamed executable.

Your friend is wrong, and he can't possibly know how the Addon Manager works, and it works correctly, provided Prepar3D and FSX are  installed correctly.

Which means:

- Prepar3D registry keys pointing to the Prepar3D folder. FSX registry keys pointing to the FSX folder.

- Prepar3D launched with the real Prepar3D.EXE, NOT by a renamed FSX.EXE.

Which means, don't touch anything from the default installations for both sims. You should see a question if you want to install in Prepar3D, which you should obviously reply YES to it.

If you have BOTH FSX and Prepar3D installed, and you don't see the question to install into Prepar3D, then IT'S SURE your registry keys for Prepar3D are messed up.

No, it's not, our sceneries are not using the .BGL format anymore for about 90% of their features, we would need to port both the Addon Manager and the Couatl modules to X-Plane to support them, and it would really difficult because there's no feature parity between FSX/P3D Simconnect (which we use heavily) and X-Plane.

Ok, but I think is a good idea doing the scenarys to X-Plane. You can earn more money.
