I used an old Addon manager

Hello,

Where can we find our actual version of the addon manager?
I have Amsterdam 1.03 installed.  I have read in the manual (of Amsterdam) that addon manager 1.20 is included, and have sinds not updated this addon manager.  Just to be sure, where can we see the version of this manager ?

Thanks,
William

As standard in Windows, you can see the version of any DLL either by showing icons with information, or by passing with the mouse on the file waiting for the tooltip, or by right-clicking and select "Properties".

Anyway, installing Zurich will automatically upgrade bglman.dll to the latest version. But it wasn't the DLL that creates the problem to the other poster, it was the old version of the Cloud9 program database (bglman.dat) that was too old, that's why it was solved by running the latest version of the Cloud9 Addon Manager, the DLL itself wasn't touched, because the one coming with Zurich (1.0.0.36 as of today) is newer, but the DAT file was updated too.

If you don't want to run Cloud9 installer, it's easier to simply update to the latest .DAT, with this file: the end result would  be the same. Put it into the modules folder, overwriting the existing one.

We are considering updating the installer and including the update for Cloud9 products anyway.

Hi everybody!

The problem has been solved! The up-to-date Addon-Manager did the job!
Thanks for your help!! Very nice scenery of my homebase indeed :-)

It's not the updated Addon Manager the issue: with Zurich, you will already get version newer than Cloud9's.

But you need to have the latest version of its database for latest version Cloud9 sceneries (found in the Cloud9 Addon Manager installation program) and, of course, the latest version of Cloud9 sceneries installed.

So, depending on what you have now on your hard drive for Cloud9, you need to either run just the stand-alone Addon Manager installer by Cloud9, or you need to update also the sceneries.

I'm still waiting to get a precise description of the error message you are getting. What happens, exactly ?

Do you have a Windows crash ?
Do you see the Addon Manager menu when starting FS9 ?
Do you see something else ?

I already said: never mind the buildings, it's obvious you will not get any buildings until you manage to get the Addon Manager to run. So please, try to be absolutely precise about the error, so I can understand what's happening.

Thanks Umberto, this is what's happening.

1) Scenery installs fine

2) Upon starting FS2004, I get an error saying the BGLMAN dll won't load

3) When I create a flight a Zurich, the runway & land textures load up fine but no buildings or objects....I also can't see the Addon Manager or any C9 sceneries...

Tks..

Please, post a screenshot. Are you running XP or Vista ? Are you using an antivirus ? If so, which one ?

I turned it off in SP2 but now my AVG Internet Security alerted.  I'll disable AVG and try a re-install

I think we alerted quite clearly in all manuals we can think off, that antivirus should be turned off, expecially in FS9. AVG, here and then, is known to report false positives about bglman.dll. Try to exclude the fs9\modules folder from scanning. Also, check your virus definitions are updated. If they already are, it might be that the error might go away, it already happened that AVG mistakenly reported a false alarm on bglman.dll, only to be corrected a few days after, with an update of their virus definitions.

Also, I see you are getting also an fssound.dll error alert. This means it's not just bglman.dll not running on your system.
